How come there's no HORROR NETWORK?

With all the genre channels on Cable TV, how come nobody thought up The Horror Network? How cool would that be? A channel dedicated to 24-hour horror movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc.

That should take some pressure off sci-fi channel to provide both sci-fi and horror... leaving sci-fi fans pleased no doubt. Scare Tactics is a hilarious show, but some would argue that it doesn't belong on sci-fi channel.

Maybe they'll be able to air more showings of the sci-fi classic, Braveheart.

I also wish there was a classic sci fi or maybe "Cult TV" channel. The Sci Fi channel just doesn't cut it and airs mostly new material.

I'm a fan of old cult sci fi shows like Doctor Who, Time Tunnel, Lost in Space and Space 1999, it would be nice if there was a classic channel that just played old cult shows and old sci fi, horror and cult b-movies.

I get this

All movies are remasterd in hi-def, anamorphic widescreen and 5.1 Digital. Killer. It is everything from classic monster movies to modern horror flicks. War of the Worlds was on last night.

It's because of those crazy Christian fundamentalists who've got the FCC in their pocket. It's same reason why they edit everything and can't show tits on TV.

If Opie & Anthony can make it back to radio (XM) then anything's possible... Even a horror cable network.

The channel is said to be one of several ideas NBC Universal is tossing around; another natural application of the Universal library might come in the detective genre to capitalize on the likes of venerable Universal gumshoe dramas a la "The Rockford Files," "Columbo," "Magnum, P.I.," "Kojak" and, more recently, "Monk." Universal operates such a crime-centric channel in Latin America.

Meanwhile, the Trio network twists in the wind as NBC Universal devises a strategy to boost the niche outlet's distribution. Without a long-term plan in place, Trio could lose its slot to a new channel concept as early as next month, sources said.

I guess I wouldn't be all that depressed if Trio was replaced with something that used those classic shows. There so many classic series I've never been able to see and it would be nice if there were more TV Lands out there.

Exactly! I haven't had it for long but damn do I love it. What's funny is I find myself watching even the oddest stuff they show.

^^ Don't laugh, but I found myself watching The Owl and the Pussycat the other night on Divine. I just got it, but I can see myself catching up on some classics this way.
