Blade: Trinity

From Hollywood Reporter:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr...ent_id=1963606

Biel vamping in New Line's 3rd 'Blade' run

Jessica Biel, who stars in New Line Cinema's upcoming remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," has signed to star in another New Line film, "Blade: Trinity." Biel will play Abigail, the daughter of Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) who inherits the vampire-slaying duties that once belonged to Blade (Wesley Snipes). The third installment of the Marvel Comics-based franchise is being written and directed by David Goyer. "I think Jessica will blow people away in 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre,' and we are excited to have her next movie," New Line production president Toby Emmerich said. "Trinity" is being produced by Goyer, Snipes, Lynn Harris and Peter Frankfurt. Emmerich and New Line production exec Cale Boyter are overseeing the project with a September start date planned for the Vancouver shoot. Best known for her role on the WB Network's long-running drama "7th Heaven," Biel's big-screen credits include "The Rules of Attraction," "Ulee's Gold" and "Summer Catch." She is repped by CAA.
So does this mean Wesley Snipes WON'T be in this one? Or just that this is designed to be a transition film? I couldn't tell from the article. Regardless, while she is definitely a hottie, I just can't see her having the skills to pull off a role like this. This will spell the end to the franchise.

I'm all for it. Blade is probably my favorite movie franchsie (non LOTR) of the past decade. My biggest worry with this movie is David Goyer, a first time director making the movie. I know he has written all 3 movies, but directoring is completely different.

Aint that the truth? Blade gets gradually less fun each time I watch it but the only good thing I had to say about Blade II was that it ended too soon for it to get boring.

I also thought Balde II was good. The only part I didn't like was the whole "Guy on the inside" cliché, but excusable.

I liked both Blades. I liked the first one more, but thought the second was entertaining.

The original was way better than the second, but it was still enjoyable. I could've done without the WWF moves.

yes, it's always a great idea to bring in a young girl superhero (batgirl, anyone?)...

second was enjoyable, but i wish they had delved more into the secondary characters (the vampires blade fought with). they seemed cool, but weren't expounded on.

No way man, that is how they say it on the streets. Seriously though, I don't know what happened there, but that is pretty funny Sometimes my brain just goes retarded.

At least I'm not the only one. Look at the post above this one.

Another Blade, another director.

I'm guessing its 'Trinity' because its the third movie and we'll be seeing a team of Snipes, Biel and someone else.

Maybe they'll take Morbius for a spin?

I knew it would only be a matter of time until they started pandering to the squealing teenieboppers and cast some candy-ass, 20-something, ditzy blonde!!!

How could Whistler have a daughter when he said he watched a guy kill his entire family in the first Blade?

this is awesome news. She's so hot. The 2nd Blade wasn't great, but it still was one of the better comic book movies. The 1st Blade was amazing, so it was hard to top that.

The only thing that I can think of is:
Spoiler:
His daughter didn't die when attacked by the Vampires. Sort of like how Whistler didn't die, they kept him alive. I have a feeling that Jessica may be playing the part of a Vampire.

Extrmarital affar? Love child? Before he was married? If Rikki Lake can get a thousand talk shows out of this subject, I'm sure Goyer can work something out...
