Michael Apted's "Up" series: Oct. 19th.... Finally
This is from DavisDVD:
A dream come true. Thank you, First Run Features.
Starting in 1964, renowned director Michael Apted interviewed fourteen children of diverse backgrounds from all over England, asking them about their lives and their dreams for the future. Every seven years later, Apted has been back to talk to the same subjects, examining the progression of their lives. Now, First Run Features brings this extraordinary sociological project to DVD with The 'Up' Series: The Definitive Collection. From cab driver Tony to East End schoolmates Jackie, Lynn, and Susan and the heart-breaking Neil, we see, as they enter their 40s, how close these subjects are to realizing their ambitions. Due on October 19th, this five-disc set features the documentaries Seven Up (1964), 7 Plus Seven (1970), 21 (1977), 28 Up (1985), 35 Up (1991) and 42 Up (1998). Extras include an audio commentary by Apted on "42 Up," photo galleries and biographies. Retail is $99.95.

I got 42up - I've been following this series all along. As far as the box goes, I think I'll wait for the definitive 10 disc set following the 77up film (if I'm still around).

I'm so happy to hear about this. I have heard great things about this series of movies over the years. I believe 42 Up is available on DVD, but I always wanted to start from the beginning. It looks like this is my chance.
