Tom vs Denzel...who had the better bad guy performance?
After watching Collateral, I was pleasantly surprised at how well Cruise pulled off the role of such a ruthless sunnuvabitch. But I am still debating whether his performance outdid Denzel's brilliant showcase in Training Day. Denzel was just such a prick in that film. You wantd to hate his character but you couldn't help be fascinated by him.
So. In your opinion, between Tom and Denzel....
1)Who did the better job at playing the bad guy?
2)Which character did you enjoy watching on screen more?
3)Which character did you hate the most?
4)Who was more ruthless?
5)Which one would you like to see play another bad guy role sooner?

1)Who did the better job at playing the bad guy? A tough choice here, but overall I'll go with Denzel.
2)Which character did you enjoy watching on screen more? I like the character of Vincent more, so Cruise's character.
3)Which character did you hate the most? Definitely Alonzo Harris (Denzel). Vincent seemed like more of a likeable badguy, if you know what I mean.
4)Who was more ruthless? Alonzo Harris.
5)Which one would you like to see play another bad guy role sooner? Ray Liotta. His performance as Oak in Narc, I thought, was just as good as Cruise's and Denzel's.

While I'm a big fan of Cruise, I don't think he can hold a candle to Denzel. Denzel was just so ruthless in Training Day. Hek, it was such a great role that it spawned The Wayne Brady sketch on Chappelle's Show (my all time favorite Chappelle skit ever).

In order for Tom to have an equal if not better performance than Denzel, he would need to win an oscar for his acting.
