It's always fun to see lists like these, because of how "old school" seems to be a constantly-changing term. My senior year in college I was paired with a freshman roommate. I walk into our room and he says, "Dude, check out this old school track I just downloaded." He proceeds to play "Ain't Nuthin' But a G Thing." Never have I felt so old.

Also love basically everything off of Run DMC's first 3 albums especially Hard Times & It's Like That (self-titled album), King of Rock & Roots Rap Reggae (off King of Rock) and at least half of Raising Hell went on to become quite popular in the day.

I also enjoyed both "Radio" and "Bigger & Deffer", LL Cool J's first two albums.

....and pretty much anything Beastie Boys have done...I like that they've been able to vary it up from time to time, and I love their last release (To The 5 Boroughs)...a definte nod to old school style.

In more recent times, I've liked pretty much everything by Eminem and REALLY like The Streets (Original Pirate Material)...still haven't listened to the new one really yet.

Anyone remember the commercial for the Converse Weapon shoe back in the early 80s? It had all these stars of the day: magic, larrry, bernard king etc. Starts with magic going, "the converse weapon, that's the shoe, let's magic do what he was born to do!"

This would qualify as classic old-skool rap in my opinion. Anyone remember the rest? I would kill to see that commercial again.
