According to the latest issue of Video Store Magazine, an unrated edition of Broken Lizard's Club Dread will be released on September 28, with a list price of $19.99. The new DVD will contain 22 deleted and extended scenes and Broken Lizard commentary (doesn't say whether this is a new commentary).

I for one am excited about this rerelease. The first edition was pretty barebones except for 2 commentaries, in which they mention extra footage and a much longer first cut.

Never picked up the original as i didn't think the movie was that great, but if this is true i'd definitely consider it based on the extended scenes.

The movie sort of grows on you, either you like it or you don't. Was wanting to pick it up but was waiting for it to go on sale. Looks like I will wait longer for the Unrated Edition to go on sale.

I love this movie and will be picking this up. Still, I wish they would have told us this was coming, right off the bat, like they did with Hellboy.

Incorrect, but confusing....actually Fox is simply packaging the new unrated "Club Dread" together with the original version of "Super Troopers"

"Club Dread" is, in fact, 14 minutes longer, putting it at quite a lengthy one hour and 58 minutes for "comedy"....gonna dig into the screener this weekend, but scanned through it for the running time today.

This is one of those flicks that should wasn't marketed properly...it's a horror movie with lots of comedy.....it is not a pure comedy~

Not for everyone, but I dig it alot!

Still havent seen this movie and I loved super troopers. I will definitly check out the unrated version. Its nice that they actually added a decent amount to it unlike most "unrated" re-releases

Didn't like it as much as Super Troopers, but maybe it's something I have to see more than once.

The movie had plenty of boobies in it, so I'm all for an unrated version if it's going to add more, but isn't this "unrated" schtick getting out of control? When is Disney going to re-release unrated versions?

I may check it out. I loved Supertroopers, but hated Club Dread.

I agree though I went in expecting comedy and got a pretty straight forward horror/mystery film with a couple of jokes here and there.

Maybe this version will have more boobies. Thats always a good thing.

Can't wait for this... I really liked Club Dread, not as much as Super Troopers, but I still enjoyed it. It might be my most watched DVD the past few months. I find it more funny each time I watch it. Now we just need Puddle Cruiser out on DVD, which is rumored to be released this fall.

Funny that the reason you saw it was the reason I avoided it. I thought it was going to be one of those mindless comedies but now that I've been hearing it has more horror than comedy, I might have to check it out now

My wife and I went with another couple who had a tradition of seeing a bad movie on a certain day of the year (I forget the reason). They thought this looked like a stinker, and what I saw of Super Troopers looked somewhat amusing so we went. I was pretty surprised to see a pretty decent horror flick with some very funny moments. Although I enjoyed it, I wasn't anticipating the DVD very much, but I may have to pick up this new one.

if thats thats true..a 40 minute longer movie plus..dam the censors really hacked this one up good..stuff like this makes me wonder how much stuff was cut out of my favorite flicks..good job fox! and considering this one came and went in theaters,im glad they are giving it a chance

Probably only a 15 minute longer movie. The 25 minutes of "bonus footage" probably isn't incorporated back into the movie and may be only alternate takes, bloopers or rehersal footage.
