I'll be picking this up for sure. I'm a sucker for anything Hitchcock.

In past threads looking at film-related writing - and also when I looked outside of this forum using Google - the names Truffaut and Spoto seemed to be those most recommended so far as Hitchcock books were concerned.

I just finished the Truffaut book. It is very good but it isn't really a biography. The format of the book is a series of interviews where Truffaut and Hitch discuss each of Hitchcock's films. They discuss, casting, script, problems, anecdotes. Hitchcock is very candid about his successes and failures and his dry wit really shines through.
