Why can't they offer a Superbit Deluxe 2 disc option so that one can have the best transfer and DTS on disc one and bonus materials on disc two? Nevermind...I just remembered that this is Columbia we are talking about where they will only allow the customer to have the best transfer/audio options OR supplements, but NOT both(like most other studios), in a single release At least the Superbit version is, apparently, being announced and released with the other versions this time around.

It's almost guaranteed that Columbia will intentionally keep the transfer from looking as good as humanly possible, just so they can pimp their Superbit line. But at least they're releasing the Superbit version the same day, so you don't have to go out and re-buy the title for a better transfer.

Looks like I will pick up the Superbit version. When the giftset drops down to $19.99 I might pick it up then for the extras, but at that point we will probably have Spiderman 2.5...

Does Superbit really look and sound "that" much better? I normally buy the packed version of a film, in this case, the 2-disc WS. But, I'm starting to think maybe I should just get the best transfer (Superbit) since I hardly watch the special features as it is. So, is the Superbit really better or do I really need to see it for myself?

To me, Columbia is infuriating. Their Superbit transfers are no better than, and often inferior to, the top-notch transfers routinely put out by Warner, Fox, and Paramount without the marketing hype.
There is no reason why they couldn't just put out a single 2-disc version with a state-of-the-art transfer and DTS and be done with it. But no, they dumb down and soften the "normal" version and issue a Superbit in addition. I'll probably choose Superbit since the movie is the important thing.

I'll probably get the 2 Disc WS. I may spring for the boxset depending on how much more it costs. But the 2 disc is good enough because it can sit right next to my original Spider-Man on the shelf.

I would think YMMV on this one.
