Amish in the City

It's on right now. I'm shocked: It's really great.

I'm surprised, too. It's quite engaging and it's interesting to hear them debate out about how they're going to hell if they don't go back to the Amish.

On a side note, I would never have known that they normally go out at the age of 16 to go exploring the outside world if it wasn't for this show.

I knew this would be good. I usually like the random people in a house shows and I thought this was a great way to inject some diversity into the show.

For anybody who missed it, it's going to be on again Friday.

This is one of the few times I actually enjoyed something on UPN. Mose is a pretty funny guy, and I actually felt bad for him after the beach incident.

They are not playing this is in the Harrisburg/Lancaster market yet. They are showing the episodes to local businesses and then they'll decide if it's picked up.

...which is weird since Amish don't watch TV. What's the point?

I don't know, I guess they thought people in Lancaster might get offended?

It seems kind of funny to me, but I don't really care I probably wouldn't have watched it anyway.

Am I the only one that can't get Amish Paradise (by Weird Al) out of my head after just the thought of this show?

Can't you get Philly stations in Lancaster? It's about equidistant from both.

Not a bad show, of the parts I saw.

The one girl that while shopping kept making comments about the food choices.

Amish Guy: "Should we get eggs?"
Annoying Girl: "No, those are chicken abortions"

Was that the same chick that said cows come from outer space?

Ironically I believe you can. Although those of us in Harrisburg, can only get the Lancaster owned UPN.

I think she said dairy products were cow puss as well. What a freak. I bet she wears leather.

I have a feeling I'll get stuck watching this one this season, too. It's pretty funny.

And yes, Ariel is a vegan and walks around preaching all about it. The cows from outer space part was the icing on the cake.

That's hilarious. I can't even believe Lancaster has any TV stations.

Incidentally, an Amish family used to live down the road from my cousin's family in Dover, DE, and they use to come over to watch tv all the time.

Ruth sort of looks like Veronica from MTV Road Rules.
