Who wants to be my music buddy?

Here is your job. Listen to music and tell me what is good enough for me to bother listening to. I generally don't like to listen to a lot of music, especially new music. I only want to listen to stuff that I am reasonable sure that I will enjoy.

As a result, most of the music I do listen to comes from a sound track, because I hear it will watching something.

My interests include anything from the 60s forward, but leaave out the punk, country, and R&B. Everything else is fair game and my tastes are quite eclectic.

Here is a sample of the stuff I am listen to to give you an idea of what I enjoy.

80s cover songs
Scotty Doesn't Know - Lustra
Complicated - Avril Livigne
Jagged Little Pill (entire album)- Angry Whore
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - IZ
Time of your Life - Green Day
Shine - Collective Soul
Love Train - The O'Jays
Dracula From Houston - Butthole Surfers
Show You Love - Jars of Clay

Compensation depends on my satisfaction.

I thought Butthole Surfers were considered "punk"?

Knowing your interests, you're going to want to pick up Tina Turner - We Don't Need Another Hero.

Listen to that song, and you'll be amazed that it is them.

Das- Got it, naturally

And thanks for Bartertown. I was worried you might have to face the wheel.

Dave,

download The Stone Roses - Song For My Sugar Spun Sister and
Happy Mondays - Kinky Afro

If you like them, you can buy their respective albums, The Stone Roses [US] and Pills 'N' Thrills and Bellyaches.

Green Day is punk, but try their Warning album. It's a lot different from all the other punk bands out there. If you like TOYL, you'll probably like Waiting and Macy's Day Parade.

I listened to the song linked. Hasn't Scatterbrain covered this type of material and genre unsuccessfully?

And to answer the question about 'a music buddy", for some reason, I can't keep out of my head a certain 'buddy' from PULP FICTION. So, I can't honestly answer this question...
