I need to start backing my home videos up onto dvd. I got the burner, got some discs, have the files, but before I do anything else, I was trying to find out which cases people are using now. I read the sticky thread and numerous others but they seem to be slightly dated now. What dvd cases are the best to use for single and double dvd cases, and where do people seem to get the best deals?

Thanks a TON in advance for any help. Everyone's a newb at some point :)

The gold standard is Amaray, but Alpha, Scanavo, and others are also good. Here are a few good places for buying extra cases:

Sleeve City (http://www.sleevetown.com/index.shtml)

iNetDVD (http://inetdvd.com/store/cases.asp)

U.S. Plastic Corp. (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%)

C4Component (http://www.c4component.com/)

And of course you can always try running a search for "DVD cases" at Ebay (http://ebay.com/) too...plenty of people are selling them there too.

You may want to try your local video store and see if they have any empty case they are going to throw away. Amaray's are essential. The local Blockbuster here reuses the cases for their PPV's but a friend of mine had a nice BB employee that gave him some Amarays for free. it all depends on the store and its employees. Ask Nicely!
