If the trend of making old tv shows into films what current shows do you think we'll be seeing on the big screen in fifteen or twenty years?

The optomist in me wants to hope that in 15 years Hollywood will have gotten over their recycling TV shows into movies phase.
There's a lot of TV shows that I feel we may see as movies in the next 5 years (with the original TV casts), such as 24 and The X-Files.
But total remakes? Maybe CSI. Maybe Miami Vice. Maybe Dallas. Maybe NYPD Blue. I don't see many comedies making the jump...although goodness knows Hollywood might try to turn these into comedies.

Yeah I think Dallas (and the even worst Dynasty if it does well) and Miami Vice are a lock.

I would love to see a Jonny Quest film, if done right.
On a more recent front, oh you know-Buffy/Angel. :)

I think Buffy & Angel and The X-Files are more of a matter of when, than if. Once Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Duchovny get off their high horses, we'll see both movies.

24 has potential, but I think it's best suited as a TV show. The novelty of real-time would be lost in the movie because a) it's already been done, and b) the plots Jack Bauer gets into require a lot more than 2 hours of screen time to resolve.
They'll probably make it into a movie anyway, though.

Just watched the short-lived series "The Tick" and was left waiting for a movie.
Come on, when do we get "All In the Family: The Movie"?

To tell you the truth, I don't think that the movie studios are exactly picky in choosing their next TV shows to be adapted to film so that means that any TV show that was ever produced, has a good chance of being a movie.
Let's vote for "Charles in Charge: The Movie"

I whole-heartily agree. With the recent slew of super hero flicks, I think The Tick would be a much needed refresher in the genre.

I don't think I could sit through a movie of 24. It would be 2 1/2 times as long as The Decalogue!
