What is the difference between the 1- and 2-disc version of Lonesome Dove?

Any other difference besides compression? Was there both a movie and mini-series or just the mini-series? Thanks!

I didn't even know there was a 1-disc version. All the copies I've ever seen are 2-disc (and mysteriously all seem to have ridiculously wrinkled plastic sleeves).

the one disc was a flipper. it was a mini series only, not a feature film. there was a sequel a few years later, also a mini series. there was also a series too.
