ROCK 'N RULE - great new update on DVD release

If Unearthed Films can pull this off, it'll be an awesome disc for an fantastic and under-appreciated film!

First of all, something to whet your appetites (QuickTime required):

http://www.unearthedfilms.com/trailers/rr_bb.mov

Now:

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group...e/message/1338

If you're a big enough fan to be reading this post, you're probably a big enough fan to join the Yahoo! group and read that message...but the short version is:

-probable 1st quarter 2005 release
-"Rock and Rule Double Deluxe Collectors Set
Disc 1
Restored High Definition Anamorphic Transfer of the film in it's
original aspect ratio in 5.1 Dolby Digital and 2.0 Dolby Digital.
The Devil and Daniel Mouse (Depends on the Poll in the newsgroup.
Deadline Aug 15th)
Commentary with Director Clive Smith and to be announced.
Still and production gallery
Double Disc Liner Note Booklet Written by Peter Roe

Disc 2
Alternate Version of Rock and Rule
The Making of Rock and Rule Feature (Depends on the Poll in the
newsgroup. Deadline Aug 15th)
The Making of The Devil and Daniel Mouse
PDF File of the script for Rock and Rule
Another sketch gallery
And anything else we can find or live video interviews we can
scrounge up."

Anyone even gonna bother with the single-disk?

Rock on!

I've always loved that Blondie song from this movie. I'd buy this the day it was released. Thanks for the update!

Several years ago a tv show called Night Flight did a profile of Lou Reed & played a video for My Name Is Mok. It was fantastic & almost played as a trailer for the film. I think it was an alternate version of the song than is in the movie. I really hope it is included in the set. I would buy it just for that.

Ditto. This is certainly a street date purchase for me (hell, I'll pre-order it the first it's available for pre-order).

They kept all the original music in the DVD set but couldn't get the rights to a CD or the music videos. Otherwise, the Collector's set was great!

I've been sent a few recent reviews that indicate the set will be in full frame only but they must not have received the actual DVD set coming out since it was clearly in widescreen when I watched it recently. I just wanted to warn people about reviews that are circulating with misinformation. Thanks for sending them to me though (I got fussed at for providing "different" information than another website). Just another week for general release! Yay!
