My buddy and I got into a semi-disagreement last night. Simply put, he thinks Color Me Badd was the worst band ever. I say Milli Vanilli, even if they had done their own vocals, are the worst band ever. Even before the scandal, Milli Vanilli songs made me want to kick in the family stereo (which my brother used to listen to Milli Vanilli).

So, who's worse?

Just to make it more interesting, I'm throwing in two more bands that I think are equally crap--(equal to Color Me Badd that is, I still think Milli Vanilli is worse): Wilson Phillips and Bananarama.

Your friend is right. Color Me Badd.

Based solely on talent, Milli Vanilli was the worst. At least the other three choices could carry a tune.

I voted for Color Me Bad. This vote is strictly due to the fact that C.M.B. is responsible for the most awkward moment of my life:

Listening to "I Wanna Sex You Up" in its entirety in the car with my grandfather.

I actually liked Bananarama. A lot. One of the girls in Wilson Phillips was pretty hot, so that excludes them. I don't remember Color Me Badd enough to form an opinion, so that leaves Milli Vanilli as the worst band on your list.

Now, the actual worst band of all time would be either Uriah Heep or Big Brother and the Holding Company. All the bands you listed could at least keep their instruments tuned.

I vote Color me Badd. They can't even spell their name right!

I actually had, at one point, Bananarama greatest hits :o

Banarama rules, brings back fond memories whenever I hear that song of theirs from The Karate Kid.

"Sweep the leg!"

Actually, all of the groups he listed most likely have no idea how to even play an instrument.

Milli Vanilli. When I heard they had been busted for lip-syncing, I couldn't believe that somebody would sound that lame, and engineer it to sound exactly that way. I mean, if you're going to be a fake band, why be a lousy fake band?

I'll go with Wilson Phillips because I have never heard of him. However, I think everything else on your list is pretty good. Color Me Bad wasn't a bad group at all.

strong agreement.

And WP has nice vocals-they are the children of Brian Wilson.

 Wilson Phillips is a girl group that's probably right up your alley.

haha does everyone seriously still not notice the strange similarity between Edward "Christina" Aquilera and Cottington (http://dvdtalk.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=1950338)?

Technically, none of those listed are "bands". They are, at best, singing groups (though not even that in Milli Vanilli's case).

Still, Color Me Badd is by far the worst. More proof that making it to #1 in the US has absolutely nothing to do with quality.

I am shocked shocked at the love for Color Me Badd. They are clearly not the worst. Milli Vanilli is!

Agreed, Wilson Phillips (well, 2/3 of WP) are hot, and their harmonies can be tight, but there's something about the complete inanity of their lyrics that wanted me to kill someone, because you know there were some 12-year olds who thought they had good messages--like "hold[ing] on for one more day" is so deep.

I would also agree that O-Town and Creed are horrible bands. Color Me Badd make me laugh at how bad they are. Creed makes me angry.

Bananarama were serious eye candy in the 80's. One critic said something like "How could of bunch of girls who look so bored and pissed off all the time be so damn sexy?" Heh heh. Agree Milli Vanilli shouldn't be on this list. They didn't sing. Color Me Badd were a joke from the get go.

"oooooohhhh oooohhhhh oohhhhh .... I wanna sex you up!"

(tick tock you don't stop!)

Man, I thought those guys were hilarious!

I had to "acquire" that song again after reading this thread and *boy* I had to crank it. Memories I tell you.

As for the worst ... it's a tough call. Color Me Badd wasn't all that bad considering the era that they performed in. There were many bands those days that consisted mainly of eyecandy and low levels of talent.

Wilson Philips could actually sing.

Milli Vanilli ... well, at least In Living Color did a really funny sketch on MV so thank goodness for them.

Banarama were awesome! for those who grew up in the 80's.
