Absolutely nothing out this week that I want (I've already made my own VH greatest hits two disc set). It's just as well because my wallet took a beating last week.

The Hives' newest single didn't appeal to me at first, but it's grown on me, and I can't wait for this CD.

I'll give the Hives a whirl. Probably nothing compared to the last effort, but they are pretty consistently entertaining.

You people might as well be posting in Farsi for all I recognize most of those acts. I've heard of VH and the Jacksons, but none of the rest. I am so out of touch. Then again, the last time I was up on the Top 40 was when Survivor was big.

Ditto that request from my end. This release snuck up on me.

I was actually wrong--it's not being released until next week. The concert rocked, though! It was my first time hearing them live, and they played a few new songs that were pretty good. I can't really compare it to much, though, because the only one of their albums I'm familiar with is Satellite Rides. It's not so far removed from that album, though.

Glad you enjoyed the show. I've seen them 4 times and have never been disappointed. If the only album you've got is Satellite Rides, you need to pick up Too Far To Care. All of their albums are wonderful (with the possible exception of Fight Songs), but Too Far To Care is (in my opinion) an absolute masterpiece and one of the best "alt-country" albums ever released. I've listened to it regularly for 7 years and still pull it out once a month or so.
