Best first person shooter level?

What are your all time favorite levels from a first person shooter?

Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Counterstrike - as_oilrig: A much hated level, and it has its fair share of bugs and exploits, but this level is has a masterful design. One team starts on the bottom and has to make it to the top. The other team has to stop them. The level gives plenty of cover, and plenty of situations where height is an advantage.

2. Halo - The Cartographer: This level really shows off all the benefits of halo. Great scenery outdoors, and hauntingly cold metallic interiors. Rocket Launchers and warghogs a plenty, not to mention an exhilerating initial team assault on the island. Incidentally, the island also looks nice from above as well.

3. Call of Duty - First 2 soviet missions: The triggers built into this mission are simply amazing. The river crossing was exciting, and the fact that you have no gun, and that your comrades will shoot you if you run away add so much ambieance to the game. I really enjoyed those sequences.

4. Duke nukem 3D - first level - Starting the game off in a XXX movie theatre was just masterful. Plus they start you off with the RPG and hoverjets and all the fun stuff from the beginning.

5. Goldeneye - Streets of Stalingrad - Who doesn't like driving thru town in a tank? This level was a blast, and also a challenge.

What are some of your more memorable levels?

For me, it was in Goldeneye - the Facility. Whether it was one player or multi, that was always my fav.

Don't play man FPS games. And when I do play its always multiplayer. My favorite multiplayer level is Hang Em' High in Halo.

Halo - The Cartographer

One of my faves. Often when I go back and replay saved completed games on Halo this is the level I play.

I thought the last level of halo was the best. Mowing down every enemy as you race out of there.

I hated the cartographer level. You have a tank a rocket launcher and tons of guns but the door is locked and you have to go all the way around to get the key. Nice level design! Didn't see that coming.

I'm not much of a FPS fan, but I have to agree with you here. The first two levels at Stalingrad are really spectacular!! There's so much happening it really makes you say "WOW!!".

I remember really loving the level of Half Life where there's a big moster with lots of claws and you have to figure out how to kill it. I forget what it was called, but that was pretty cool.

The first Omaha Beach level of Medal of Honor was awesome.

It's hard to pick a favorite level from Chronicles of Riddick, there are so many...

I loved the level in Riddick where you are in the Mech suit. Seeing the guards run when they see you was priceless.

Also, The Cartographer level in Halo is pretty damn good. I love how many different ways there are to go about killing the Covenant, and the environment is just incredible.

"Tricks & Traps" and "Suburbs" in DOOM II are the first that come to mind.
Tricks & Traps is just cool due to the simple level layout and the massive amount of teleporting enemies and such.
Suburbs is insane if playing on Ultra-Violence or Nightmare. Immediately run out from the starting point, avoid the Arch-Vile, start running around the level, then head off to the staircase in the center of the toxic pool. Hordes of enemies will follow you there and massive carnage will ensue.

The assylum in Theif III is a great level. The atmosphere is very well done, mostly with sound effects.

The entire Hong Kong level in Deus Ex. I had a lot of fun in that level.

Omaha Beach in MOH is awesome. It made me realize had I actually been there, I would have quickly been killed.

Whatever Goldeneye level that started out in the bathroom. I remember putting in the all weapon and paintball codes and just going to town in there.

Another vote for The Cartographer in Halo.

And finally, Wake Island from BF1942. The first and still the best level in the BF series (followed closely by Omaha and Market Garden)

The original CTF levels for Quake. It was great how they incorporated grappling hooks into the design of the maps.
