I would not go with a combo. Better to buy separates, even though toshiba is a pretty good brand. Why not get a much cheaper 9" (or 10-12") tv, and a small Cyberhome 300 DVD player for around $40? Cheaper and safer having separates....

why is it safer to get two separate generic brand tv and dvd player than get a brand name tv/dvd combo?

Although I have never personally seen this, it is possible that a component will fail. If it happens to a combo unit then you might lose the use of both.

For that list price I think I would consider a seperate tv and dvd player, just my .02 however.
