dvdanswers just posted anchor bay's plan on releasing all 8 halloween movies in one box set in region 2

http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?r=0&s=1&c=4365&n=1&burl=

But I'm wondering what the chances of this comming out in region 1, because I know that atleast 2 companies own the rights in the US (Universal and Disney I want to say)? Thanks!

No chance. Universal owns parts 1-3; Anchor Bay owns 4-5; Miramax owns 6-8

I thought Anchor Bay owned 1.

Besides, most of the movies really suck.

I believe Universal licensed it to Anchor Bay.

Halloween
Halloween II
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
Halloween: H2O
Halloween: Resurrection

For my money, the only 2 Halloweens are 1 and 2.

I hope it's not like their old UK set (http://www.anchorbay.co.uk/perl/search.pl?CO=ABDHALL), which was basically just the same UK versions of 1, 4, 5, and 7 (6 was not on DVD at the time, and 8 was still in theaters), plus relatively barebones versions of 2 and 3, in one package. Here are the stats of that older set:

Halloween 1:
# Widescreen 2.35:1 presentation 16:9 enhanced for widescreen TVs
# Full-frame presentation reformatted for 4:3 TVs
# Original Theatrical Trailers
# Television Spots
# Radio Spots
# Talent Biographies
# Still and Poster Gallery
# Behind the Scenes Still Gallery
# Halloween Unmasked 2000 Produced and Directed By Mark Cerulli
# John Carpenter Documentary.
Appears to be the same as our older version, sans the tv cut disc.

Halloween 2:
# Audio Commentary from award-winning horror expert Stephen Jones and film critic Kim Newman (author of the British Film Institute's Companion To Horror)
# Detailed Production Background
# Cast and Crew Biographies
Halloween 3:
# Audio Commentary from award-winning horror expert Stephen Jones and film critic Kim Newman (author of the British Film Institute's Companion To Horror)
# Detailed Production Background
# Cast & Crew Biographies
The commentary thing is the only new aspect, and while interesting, I'd rather hear from someone actually involved with the film.

Halloween 4:
# Optional Newly Created Dolby Digital 5.1 Soundtrack
# Inside Halloween 4 Featurette
# Theatrical Trailer
# Original Mono Soundtrack
Halloween 5:
# Widescreen Presentation 16:9 Enhanced for Widescreen TVs
# Full Frame Presentation
# Theatrical Trailer
# Optional Newly Created Dolby Digital 5.1 Soundtrack
# Inside Halloween 5 Featurette
# Theatrical Trailer
# Original Mono Soundtrack
# Introduction by Stars Danielle Harris and Ellie Cornell
Seems like the same AB releases we got.

Halloween H20:
# Making of Featurette:Unmasking The Horror
# Music video
# Trivia game
Same as the Dimension edition we got.
