Robocop 3

I have heard some people say that Robocop 3 is good and others who say not, but what do you guys think? I loved Robocop and Robocop 2 was alright, how is 3?

The problem with it was that it was incredibly watered down and made into a typical sci-fi action movie. Gone was the over-the-top violence and satire that made the original such a classic. It was clearly made for kids and frankly, since the second one didn't need to be made, that tells you a lot about the third.

I agree with Al. Although part 2 kinda kept the over the top humor and satire of the first one, the 3rd one threw it all away.

A PG-13 Robocop movie? Come on, what is up with that?

And, of course, no Peter Weller.
How can you have a Robocop movie without Weller?!

That wasn't a factor for me, to be honest. Actually, it wasn't until a couple years ago when I saw the third one again that I even realized Weller wasn't the one donning the RoboCop armor.

I'll say this:

I bought the Criterion release of the original. 2 and 3, I capped off digital cable and made my own DVD. Good enough for the dumb movies they are.

It was released individually, but buying it will cost more than buying the whole trilogy

I think I am satisfied with my Criterion Robocop. I think my Robocop collection will stop with the first one. I might buy the second if it is ever cheap enough!

I'd still buy part 2, I thought that was a good movie (not as good as the first one though). Its pretty cheap now actually.

Yeah, I might still buy Robocop 2, I think it's only $9.99 or so at Circuit City.
