I'll believe it when I see it on the New Release rack at Best Buy.

I'm still in school and I left one of my classes the first time it was gonna come out and went up to Best Buy. I was waiting at the door when they first opened up and I rushed to the back and grabbed one. I am still glad I went up there when I did. If I hadn't I wouldn't have it now.

Is this the exact same DVD that was recalled the first time?

Good thing I got my copy a while ago, and I didn't have to pay more than retail too.

Johnny Depp's next movie Finding Neverland (Miramax) comes out October 22, 2004, so maybe that has something to do with the Ed Wood October 19, 2004 release date.

Sure hope that's a misprint; the writers were the best part of the disc (un-)released in February, and Burton was really bad on it.

They probably didn't record a new commentary (especially since the old was just edited together, not recorded straight through), so I figure that's either a misprint *or* we're all gonna be going back through that commentary line by line trying to figure out what the writers said to get removed from the disc.

Perhaps that's why they recalled it? Seems like a far cry but no one ever figured out why, did they? I haven't listened to the commentary yet, I'll have to check it out tonight or tomorrow night.

Wasn't this supposed to be released before?

I think I remember reading something about that...

My money's still on "Que Sera Sera".

But it's possible, I suppose, that some of the things the writers said could've left them open to be sued for slander/libel (whichever). I tend to doubt it, but it's possible.

DVDEmpire is showing the same UPC as the recalled version. Since it is getting "released" Mid Oct. 2004, you may want to wait for the DDD 20% off sale that may happen in November

I certainly hope so, their commentary for People Vs. Larry Flynt was fantastic.

On that commentary, they talk a bit about having studio problems with Ed Wood. But that was a different studio (I don't remember which one), not Disney.

Who cares? It's been released too many times already, not to mention it's still in print in other countries. I already own two copies of this, one region one and the other region two.

A lot of people do. If you don't that's fine, but maybe try to resist the urge to tell us.

Who cares?
The great flaw inherent in the message board system is that it assumes that anybody who clicks on the thread would be somebody who cares. Perhaps you could explain why somebody who doesn't care would bother to read it in the first place?
