Just remembering this great show, edgier than SNL and with some terrific musical guests. Regular cast included Larry David, Michael Richards, Mark Blankfield, and Melanie Chartoff. Only made it thru 2 or 3 seasons. Belongs on DVD!

I'd buy it. I had the hots for Melanie Chartoff Plus it was the first time I saw The Clash perform live. Good times...

How about the Darrow Igus as the Rasta Man Chef or Mark Blankfield as the stoned out Pharmacist who kept popping pills without reading the labels. Michael Richards brillant as a little kid blowing up toy soldiers in his back yard or as a geeky guy trying to hit on Melanie Chartoff at the beach.

I'ld buy it in a heartbeat. I remember staying up late to watch it. Real late, as the local ABC affiliate usually ran it past 2 a.m.

What I remember the most about Fridays was the tribute they did to John Lennon the week he was murdered:
Dead silence while they slowly rolled the lyrics to "Imagine."

The Andy Kaufman episode (depicted in "Man on the Moon") was a stunner. I'd settle for that for the moment.

They had some great musical moments on that show. The Clash mentioned before Boz Scaggs and The Doobie Brothers were also great.....well it was a long time since I saw them.
How come some channel like Trio or Comedy Central never obtain the rights?

Dunno... maybe ABC (Disney) is holding onto them and won't give them up.

There were too many drug references in the show. Way more than SNL ever did and far beyond what anyone would dare do even on cable TV now. I think that's why it doesn't show up in syndication. I'm thinking the only hope of seeing those shows again would be on DVD.

I doubt you'll ever see these on DVD, especially complete episodes. There haven't been any complete season sets of "Saturday Night Live," which is more well-known and (arguably) has a larger fan base, so what chance does "Fridays" have?

I would imagine that clearing the video rights for the musical performances could be a problem.

I'd love to get a DVD with KISS' appearance, though. That was the only time that they played "The Oath," and "I" live, and one of only two times that they've played "A World Without Heroes" live. Those songs sounded great on the show, and I loved KISS on "Hollywood Cubes!"

Mark Blankfield also did KISS' EXposed home video - he played the interviewer and was really funny.

Larry David was on this show as well. I would think with the popularity of Curb Your Enthusiasm some studio may show interest in releasing these.
