Does anyone know of any good and inexpensive sunglasses? I usually buy mine at Target, but they seem to scratch too easily. I don't want to spend more than about $50, but want something to last. Any ideas?

You can always try the clearance section of Sunglass Hut. I don't know if they have clearance items online, but the kiosk in my local mall has a small section of clearance items.

www.campmor.com

Cheap Vuarnets, and a big selection of others too.

EDIT: Jeez, for years they had over 50 types of Vuarnets for pennies on the dollar, but there are only a few left.....wonder what happened there.

Still a lot of other choices, but not as discounted as the Vuarnets were...

I generally get Serengettis from Costco for $40.

Footlocker.com is still having their sale on Anarchy Eyewear, some models are $9.99, discounted quite a bit:

<a href="http://www.footlocker.com/catalog/searchResults.cfm?TID=5555-45140400282145000782370-0&module=sideNav&action=keywordSearch&search=k&keyword=anarchy&Go_keyword.x=0&Go_keyword.y=0"> Footlocker</a>

A few models are even polarized, such as the Nexis 2.

There is also a $20 off of $100 purchase, code LKS47204 (exp 7/31) if anybody actually buys that much stuff there.

Shipping is a little steep, at $7 for the first item and $2 for each additional item, I think.

I purchased a pair of the polarized Nexis II glasses back when they were discounted to $19.99 (May), only to see them drop by $10 a week after that.

Although, I must say that Anarchy Eyewear's quality has gone down a bit since they were purchased by Gargoyle. I have an older pair of Anarchy Eyewear sunglasses that I love dearly, but unfortunately over the years have become scratched. While the pair of Nexis II glasses I just bought are great, they just aren't the same quality.

Costco had a good price on Bolle and Maui Jim's although they might be a few dollars over $50.

Nashbar and Performance bike catalogs always have some good deals if you're looking for sporty glasses.

Fossil Online has lots of glasses in the $40 range, sometimes free shipping deals as well.

They are a bit more than what you want to pay, but go with the Swiss Army glasses that "H" on CSI: Miami wears (and don't forget to keep them on indoors).

I bought a pair of $5 sunglasses from Kohl's. What's funny is that they look very similar to a Prada pair I saw at the mall.

The thing is I had to get them from the women's section. I'd post pics if I could, I don't think they look any more "feminine" than some of the men's glasses I've seen.

The funny thing is that Kohl's is stuck in some weird time warp. The men's glasses were all like dual-tinted fake Oakleys from the late 80's and the women's glasses were all old squarish tortoise shell ones. Which is what I was looking for.

A family member works in the wholesale sunglasses industry. A couple of years ago I showed her a nice pair of glasses I had bought in LA and she went through how much each part cost.

Since then I don't feel right paying so much for glasses, especially since I usually lose them anyway.

If you're in New York City or Washington, D.C., I recommend buying $10 "Oakleys" off a street vendor. Don't worry, they'll find you.

I'm looking for cheap aviator sunglasses. Anyone know where I can find them?

You gotta be careful with those street vendors. They may sound sweet as molasses but they'll really knock you out with their cheap sunglasses.

I just broke a pair of Maui Jim's. They were in my coat pocket and I forgot and kinda layed on them. I wonder if Costco will take them back?

I've never had any luck with cheap sunglasses. It seemed like all of them scratched easily.

Sunglasses are the one thing I spend way too much money on. My latest pair, some Revos that cost $300.

Same here. I wear them every day for a few hours, so I think they're worth it. The optical clarity and quality of the glasses alone are worth it. My Revos are about 18 months old, and they're almost like they were the day I bought them. Worth every penny. I've even been told by my optometrist that cheapie sunglasses actually could do more damage to your eyes than good by not blocking the UV rays they are supposed to...

Back on topic, you may want to poke around www.eyesave.com and even search a bit for a coupon. They have good prices and they've been reliable for the few orders I've put in through them. Take a look at the Killer Loops - great quality, some are polarized (a MUST if you ask me), and they won't break the bank. I still wear an older pair of killer loops quite a bit - they're quite nice, though not as nice as the revos...

Killer Loops? I don't see them and a search showed nothing.

I saw my Maui Jim's starting at $169. I think they were $70 at Costco.

I think eysave stopped carrying them. They were great quality for the price, as they are Bausch and Lomb branded glasses. You can probably find some floating around out there...oh the wonders of ebay. I still love my old Killer Loop "Pandemonio's"...

I'm wearing a cheap pair of rimless Chaps glasses from Kohls that were about 20 bucks. Mostly for driving and weekends, and they work just fine to me. I can't fathom paying 300 dollars for sunglasses.

I always wait until Big 5 has one of their Coupon Days. Every once in a while they have their $50-$100 glasses for $10-$20. As long as they have UV protection and look good, I buy a pair or two.

I use them when I ski, jog, play sports, drive, or work in the yard - eventually they either break and/or get lost. Due to this fact, I am unwilling to spend more than $20 on a pair (and usually I only spend $10). Even if they only last a year each, that's 30 years until I reach that $300 total someone earlier said they paid!
