I'm not familiar with the Firefly characters names but the guy on the right looks like the real life counterpart to 'The Clone Wars' cartoons animated Anakin Skywalker.

This is probably the film I am most anticipating right now. It's going to be fantastic (but for some reason I don't see it making much money, sadly).

Awesome! I am excited. Anyone know the (I know they have no exact date) expected release date? I just watched the series through for the 2nd time, I love it (and I'm not even a Buffy or Angel fan). Wash looks like a badass and Jayne looks like an idiot, IMHO, but those are great pics!

They do have an exact date. April 22, 2005.

I'm really looking forward to this too. The series was excellent.

Rumor is that they'll be at the SDCC on Sunday.

I hope they aren't spending too much money on this flick, as I doubt it has the following to support it.

I admire Whedon for sticking with his cast from the TV show and not getting stars, though he may pay the price. The again, who knows? This might have the small but devout following of Hellboy and be an unexpected hit.

actually as long as they keep the costs down to under $40 million I bet they get the money back with B.O. plus the Dvd sales. Josh has a following that will pay to see what he does.

Summer Glau. She was a regular Firefly charcater -- River Tam. She also played the ballerina in the episode of Angel where ... wait a minute? How many ballerinas have ever been on Angel? Do I really have to specify?

Angel Season 3 spoiler
Spoiler:
The episode where they get caught reliving the love affair between the ballerina and the Count

I thought she looked like someone from angel or buffy.

I will need to rewatch that episode I think

I still don't know how they managed to get $40 million to make a movie from a cancelled TV series, but I'm all for it.

The budget is actually around $50 million, which Joss Whedon should be able to do loads with. Hopefully, word will get around about the movie so that it'll have a decent opening, at least. The official site is already crawling with fans ready to help publicize...8000+ and counting! Can't wait for the movie, join the browncoats now!

Also, FireflyFans.Net and Firefly: Immediate Assistance keep pretty good tabs on the movie's production. The latter even keeps track of reports from extras on the set; there's some really great stuff from insiders.
