Review wanted: TAPE (R. Linklater)
Anybody seen this?
I usually enjoy his movies (didn't see Waking Life yet, though) as wesll as Ethan Hawke's & Uma Thurman's performances.
I'm thinking about a blind buy on this.
Thanks!

I hated this movie to a degree like few others in my life. Your mileage may vary.

Rent it, but I suspect you'll like it. A "small film" in every sense of the word (only 3 characters in a single setting during a compressed time-frame), but more drama and true human emotion than in most self-proclaimed epics.

I'm with Josh on this one... I can't even articulate how much I disliked this film.
Although, in fairness, I hate just about everything that Ethan Hawke has ever been associated with... so our tastes may be different.
I'd definitely recommend a rental on this one, rather than a blind buy. Even if you like it, this doesn't seem to be the type of film that one would rewatch particularly often.

I have sat through a lot of art films and like many...but TAPE was not a favorite. I was hoping it would end after an hour but I had to finish TAPE so like a long distance runner I reached my point of Zen and endured. TAPE is interesting only for the technical choices...and only then to another filmmaker. It's not the best film by anyone involved for sure.
