I just saw that. I can see why they wouldnt put Nixon in the lineup against the lefty, but I'm starting to doubt they will ever be in the lineup together. Manny is due for a day off, isnt he? -ohbfrank-

Heres the latest ESPN rumors
Randy Johnson
Yankees
Red Sox
Jul. 7 - It's still all quiet on the Big Unit front, though the Yankees and Red Sox are queing up in hopes the left-hander agrees to be traded. Johnson's agent, Alan Nero, told the Boston Globe his client hasn't discussed the subject with Diamondbacks management.
"The team has not gone to Randy, nor has Randy gone to the team with any trade scenario," Nero told the Globe. "Right now he has a full no-trade clause."
Yankees owner George Steinbrenner told Sporting News Radio last week he would love to have Johnson, but Newsday quotes Diamondbacks GM Joe Garagiola Jr. as saying, "We are not under any pressure to move a contract."
Carlos Beltran
?
Jul. 7 - Speculation already has begun that Beltran could be traded a second time if the Astros, who acquired him from Kansas City in June, continue to fade in the NL Central and wild-card races. A number of teams were after Beltran when the Royals were shopping him, among them the Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, Angels, Marlins, and Cubs.
Kris Benson
Mets?
Yankees?
Phillies?
Dodgers?
Jul. 7 - Benson's stock seems to rise and fall by the day, with teams alternately high on him or turned off. But one A.L. GM told ESPN's Peter Gammons, "There is absolutely no pitching around right now except for Kris Benson. And (Pirates GM) Dave Littlefield knows what he's doing -- he has the one legitimate starting pitcher and he's going to hold out until he gets a position player who can step in soon."
Gammons indicates that price likely takes the Dodgers, Mets and Yankees out of the running. "They want too much right now," one Mets official told Newsday last week. "That could change." Benson is in the final year of his contract, and the Pirates are expected to move him.
Russ Ortiz
Yankees
White Sox?
Jul. 7 - A week after reportedly dangling Ortiz, a free-agent-to-be, in trade talks, the Braves have regrouped and decided not to deal any pieces as they eye a run at the NL East title.
The Yankees had inquired about Ortiz after reports surfaced that Atlanta had discussed dealing the right-hander to the White Sox before Chicago obtained Freddy Garcia.
Roberto Alomar
Yankees
Jul. 7 - According to The New York Post, the Yankees are monitoring what the Diamondbacks do with the switch-hitting second baseman. At this point, it's more due diligence because the Yankees are very happy with Miguel Cairo and Enrique Wilson. But since the Diamondbacks are going nowhere and Alomar doesn't fit into their rebuilding plans, they will likely move him before the July 31 trading deadline. He is making $924,234 this season, which is chump change for the Yankees.

The only good that can come from a Beltran trade is that it will signify, within a few days either before or after, the offical end to the Jimy era in Houston.

By the way, Theo called the RJ rumors "internet propaganda." It wasn't a website that reported it. But I'd bet that it's a longshot.
Of course, if Johnson were to go to New York, I'd have to petition for Deftones to be [BANNED]. Since I have no leverage to have any affect on the Arizona franchise, I can only do the next best thing. Nothing personal, Def.

Yeah, it was reported by Bob Lobel of Channel 4 and Gordon Edes. Edes said that Epstein would deny it, but he was sticking to his sources. And now that I read more about it, it seems that Theo was allowed to talk to Randy Johnson, which would signify a deal was agreed on.
In any event, since I dont have to work tonight, I wont be staying up until the wee hours of the morning checking all the sites. Sorry, Mad Dawg. :(

And the Cardinals sweep the Reds at Busch Stadium for the first time since 1987 because of Barry Larkin's second error of the season enabled them to score the go ahead run.
