Looking for a "new" zombie film for the collection...

i love me some zombie movies.
but i need something "new" (not a new film, just one i dont have)

ill list what i got and im open to any suggestions (save the ones mentioned that i specifically am NOT interested in)

here is what i have

Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead (original, of course. new one is not out, no?)
Day of the Dead
Return of the Living Dead
Zombie (Fulci)
Resident Evil

i also have (which sort of count but give you a good idea of my tastes)

Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Dead-Alive (i forget its original title)

im waiting for Shaun of the Dead but i dont know when thats coming out.
im not too interested in the other Return titles, although im sure i will eventually get them.
im not at all interested in 28 Days Later.

any suggestions?

(not surprisingly "undead" shows up in a lot of film titles but, according to the imdb, none of them are simply "undead")

I'd suggest Nightmare City and Burial Ground, but since you're not interested in 28 Days Later... you may not like either of them.

Zombie 3, Zombie 4, Demons, Hell of the Living Dead, Zombie Holocaust, Crazies (Not a zombie movie, but similar, and made by Romero.)

Here's a link to the Undead movie above: http://www.undeadmovie.com/

It hasn't been released in the US, but is available from Australia if you have a region free player.

Can I ask why you are not interested in 28DL? Just out of curiosity and because there are other reccomendations but if you didn't like 28DL you may not like them. Just looking for what aspect of it turned you off.

Mutant, it's a toxic zombie movie, very Night of the Living Dead in places. Cool flick, just make sure to get the Elite disc and not the Diamond Grey Market one, that one is awful.

Also, not technically a "zombie" movie per say, but the Italian "Demons" movies are essentially zombie movies.

Shaun of the Dead is amazing, I picked up a "questionable' release at a comic convention a few months back, it's not only one of my all time favorite zombie movies, it's one of my favorite movies in general.

Undead is an aussie film that came out some time ago. it still needs to hit the states and the last I recall Lions gate has the distribution rights here. You can pick up the DVD in other Regions. Region 2 has it now I believe. Over all this is some classic zombie fun at it's best. How can you beat the aussie accent, a three barreled shot gun fisherman and a lot of gore. Over all a great flick.

This movie is horrible. Stay far, far away from it.

Get yourself some Re-animator.

That's such a kick-ass movie. It's not only a great genre flick, but also a genuinely good movie. Directed by the guy who went on to do "A Christmas Story" and "Porky's".

While some purists like to poo-poo it, I highly recommend 28 Days Later.

sorry!
i assumed "reviews and recommendations" meant places where i could go to have people recommend things to me.

but thanks for all the suggestions so far. ill check some of them out.
personally, 28 days later was boring and too derivative for me to give a flying f at a rolling donut about.

guess that makes me a purist.
you have all been very helpful.

Joe D'Amato's Erotic Nights of the Living Dead just came out on DVD. A Euro-horror zombie film combined with hardcore sex, how can you go wrong?

Already mentioned, but I also recommend Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Junk and Dellemorte Dellamore
