The Red Sox have Pedro and Schilling going in this series for Oakland, so hopefully they can win this series and stay afloat.

Tonight will mark the first time this season all of the Red Sox starters are in the lineup.

You and Andy are the only regular posters. Classicman sneaks in now and again, only to post stupid comments about how the Cards are in 1st place. He's definitely a front runner fan.

Depends on who you ask. The anti-Rolen crowd says Rolen begged out of the game, while the Philly media says that Francona made the decision. Sounds oddly familiar.

Now Damon's 5-5. It's nice to know they can unleash all of these runs with DO going 0-5.

Cards have come back the last two innings on a two-run home run by the All Star, Edgar Renteria, and a solo shot by Edmonds. They go into the ninth leading 5-3.

Matt Morris pitched seven innings tonight and picked up his ninth win in the process - all the while not giving up a home run.

And Steve Klein pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the save.

Oh yeah - Go Angels!!!!

Over the last two days the Brewers have scored 5 runs in the 1st inning (1 yesterday 4 today) and that's it, and they've won both games. -ohbfrank-

Prior did not pitch that bad, all 4 of his runs were unearned. And He 8 K's over 4 innings. The Cubs offense has been horrible the past couple of days. Aramis needs to get back soon.

Giants announcers just had a ball come into their booth. Fans below were begging for it so they tossed a wadded up piece of paper down to the crowd.

And tonight, the Cardinals tied the Yankees for the most wins in MLB (w/ 51).

And for you stat geeks - the Cardinals have the most "Quality Starts" in the game so far this season - they have 52. A "Quality Start" is when a starter pitches at least six innings while only yielding three runs or less.

Clayton's an idiot! Costs them 2 runs at least!

For those not watching, Clayton covered 2nd on an easy double play ball and thinking there were 2 outs, he got the runner at 2nd and then just started walking off the field instead of throwing to first.

This is after Johnson muffs an easy ball at the plate with the runner coming 10 feet away and Stark forgets to cover first on a grounder behind first.

Schmitty with 7 IP, 1 H (Solo HR to Helton), and 12K.

Best pitcher in the game. 11 wins in a row for Schmidt if the Giants can close out this 6-1 game.

Sweet. That's like trading one cripple for another. Like trading Jimmy for Timmy on South Park.

well AJ was gonna chuck it hard back towards his dugout and the umpire was stepping out from behind home plate at the time. I'd flinch too!
