From rotoworld.com

An MRI on Ellis Burks' left knee revealed some cartilage damage that may require more surgery to repair.
If the 39-year-old Burks needs yet another procedure on his wonky knee, he may just call it quits. He is seeking a second opinion today.

I always hate to agree with McCarver, but 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, pitching to Sierra was a moronic move. All Sierra had to do was get it in the air, and he did. The game is tied with a runner on 3rd and 2 down.

sosa was caught CHEATING in a game

bonds is being accused of using a growth hormone.. just as half the rest of the league is accused of using..
what was the % of players that canseco said was doping?

not to mention.. its another substance that isnt banned by the league.. just like big mac and his andro days.. and yes, andro is now banned as well..

but Sosa was caught CHEATING red handed in a game.. he is no better than albert belle

Well then you need to open your eyes to the rest of the world. The teams I have liked, I have liked since I was a kid....Yankees, Broncos, Spurs, Avalanche & Hurricanes. My teams have had an awesome run as of late, but for years they sucked horribly. I have lived in Tampa all my life, and the only team we had for a long time was the Bucs. yankess & lakers are easy bandwagons to join
because you know that with their payrolls and the players they can attract.. they will always be on top, whether they win the whole thing or not

its always been a pet peeve of mine when people dont cheer for their hometown teams.. and instead pick the teams on top

picking the broncos was a pretty safe choice as well.. same with the spurs..
that would just make it easy to say you picked all your bandwagon choices years ago, and have been loyal to them since then ;)
cant say anything about the hockey teams.. because no clue who won that stuff..

as far as not having options in tampa bay..
its always funny how most everyone that roots for a team that isnt in their area, picks a winner

not often you see someone from LA cheering for the brewers

You got it chief! But then I can't cheer for:

MLB - Marlins

How can I explain my choices? Easy. My favorite players of all-time:

NFL - John Elway
NBA - David Robinson
MLB - Don Mattingly
NHL - Peter Forsberg

Now, my favorite players aren't really on those teams with the exception of a few, but still, the teams themselves have remained my favorites, and always will.

And really, your whole assertion that you can only like home teams is absurd. As I said, I had no home teams save the Bucs for a long time. If my teams were horrible still, you would have no problem with it. Don't assume anything because some of my teams have had a good run the last couple of years.

That's not really true about the Lakers payroll.

Anyway, off to the Angels/Dodgers game :)

<--- proud to have not jumped on the Angel bandwagon despite growing up in The OC :)

The Red Sox are up 6-0 thanks to a grand slam by Mirabelli. You would think they are on their way to a win, but, you know.

Another awesome performance by Colon....7 runs allowed, including 3 homers.

Dodgers leading the hapless Angels 8-4

The OC? I spent 19 years in OC and I never heard anyone put a "the" in front of it ;)

Well except the show......

Despite a couple of rain delays - it was an enjoyable day at Busch.

Large beers now cost $8.75. -ohbfrank-

Jim Edmonds rocket-shot of a home run was a thing of beauty.

Before today I never noticed how badly Ichiro stands on top of home plate. His left foot is literally just a couple of inches from the damn plate.

Albert Pujols - four straight seasons of 20 home runs before the all-star break.

Jason Marquis became the third Cards starter w/ 8 wins. Pleasant surprise.

Inter-League Play sure was favorable to the Cardinals they got the 2 worst teams in the A.L. Besides the Mariners and Royals what were the other 2 teams from the A.L. they faced?

I noticed that Steinbrenner wasnt comlaining about the Sox having an easier interleague schedule this year. It must have been fair this year.

Im not sure if we have any tampa bay fans in the crowd
but if so, they should be damn proud of their team

there is some talent on the team.. but they are definitly doing the most with the least right now

I look forward to the Sox crapping on their heads in early August.

But I'd be lying if I said I didn't fear TB a little bit. (Never thought I'd be saying that this season)

I've been a fan since day one. I just don't come to this site usually to talk about baseball.

I knew the Devil Rays had a chance to be decent this year but after that horrible start I thought it was going to be another long year. They are fun to watch since they play as a team. Good team speed, good defense, great bullpen, timely hitting, decent starting pitching, and someone different always stepping up.

I posted this back on June 11th, "Any Devil Rays' fans out there besides me? I would have thought our bandwagon would be getting more action seeing as we are only 11 games under 500 now." PopcornTreeCt responded saying he was a Devil Rays fan so there are at least two here. :)

Sure is fun reading the comments about the Devil Rays; especially during the 12 game win streak. :)

Yup, no one does until the show started. It's fun to say it now.
