5 years, $65 million.

Dallas refused to match the offer.

That was completely uncalled for and out of line. I salute you, sir!

Going back to the team that drafted him? A Nash, Stoudemire, and Marion trio is nice, although I suspect Marion may not be long for the suns.

Good for Nash - Dallas wasn't going anywhere any time soon w/ that line-up.

I'm surprised that Dallas let him go without much of a fight. Maybe the 3 way with Dallas, Golden State and LA isn't as crazy as I thought.

Stevie Nash was great for the Mavericks but he couldn't play a lick of defense. I will miss him but Cuban has plenty of options, and I think Steve is slowing down a bit and not worth a max contract (at this point in his career)

Come on, even El Scorcho's comments are wittier then that.

Here's the situation on that. They offered Kobe 6 years at $100 million+ last night at the 12:01. They made it explicitly clear to Kobe that they were not going to wait around for him to make his decision. The Suns fear was that they'd offer it up to Kobe, he'd mill it about and by the time he said no, there would be no other good free agents on the market.

I guess Brian Colangelo flew to Dallas this morning to get the deal done w/ Nash.

The Suns could've afforded Kobe, but they weren't going to tolerate any *****-footing around with him.

He got a nice contract extension a year or so ago, so unless they trade him, he's not going anywhere.

On sportscenter or Mike & Mike this morning they said that the Suns knew they couldn't get Kobe and were after Nash all along, and just wanted to make a big offer to Kobe to show fans that they tried.
