Queer Eye for the Gay Guy: 6/29

Wow, talk about blah and bland. Last night's episode effectively portrayed that all gay men are not hip, dress well or have a life. Wayne was the epitomie of tragic, nuerotic and just plain sad. The Fab 5 literally showered him with gifts, yet his reaction was of completely non-ethusiastic. The little spat in the kitchen kind of demonstrated the hidden angst in Wayne - very revealing (shocking!). He seriousily needed some fruits and vegatables in his diet, his skin looked almost bleached.

Just a one off special? Or they ran out of straight guys.

This past weekend I caught up on the last 3 I had missed. And still believe Thom should brick Jai up behind a wall somewhere.

Thom is now wearing a nice shiny Rolex, looks like he is starting to make some money off this with his bed bath and beyond etc.

considering how boring Wayne was I suspect the Gay 'special' won't be happening ever again.

It wasn't anything special.

When are they going to do those Texas episodes?

Jai - 'remember that special time we spent together earlier when I had you meet my high school gym teacher, and he showed you the ropes like he used to do for me'

Good lord I hate his segments.

This was a "one-off" special to celebrate "gay pride" (which was this weekend, for the non-homos amongst us).

I'm assuming they'll probably do it once a year unless they get a deal with the new gay network.

Speaking as a gay man, this guy was a COMPLETE mess. He was queeny and bitchy and upsetting in every way, shape and form. And why the hell didn't they WAX every inch of his upper torso?!?!?! They put the straight men through that and he shouldn't be any different. he didn't seem to appreciate anything they did for him and totally reinforced a stereotype about gay men.

Really bad.

hell, I am gay and I need help... but Wayne I thought was probably the worst gay male they could have picked to do a makeover on.

and what was up with that nervous laughter, it really weired me out.

I can't get over the nice stuff you get on this show. I would ike to do, just for the free furniture and all that. Most the time the clothes are laughable, but sometimes they hook you up with that too..

That episode was terrible. I felt sorry for that guy, then again he's so mean how can you.

I'm not I've seen anymore more disturbing then that guy in that wife beater.. All that hair coming out of shirt... UGH.. I might never get that out of my head

My family was screaming at me that I wasn't on it for that episode. Problem is that I don't own my own place so it would've been difficult

One of my best friends was a finalist for the episode and he would have been fantastic. However, he has a very big personality and is very much a straight guy trapped in a gay guys body. They would've had their hands full with him.

Totally agree! He was just weird and neurotic and acted so different around his friends!

Giles - I'll have to hook you up with my friends. We had a Queer Eye for the Queer Guy makeover for me last week and I had a blast! :-) We raided Patomac Mills. :-)

Back to the show.

Wow. what a dweeb, straight or gay this guy is bad.

Although oddly when people are around he is better, I would not like to be in his head though on a daily basis.

Again Thom performed miracles with his place.

I wonder do you have to own your place?

It was a bad episode. It reminded me of the one with the Asian guy where his girlfriend was SO not into what he was trying to do for her. She was really a bitch and he should have dumped on the air. He was way too nice to her.

At least in that one the gay guys called her out on that.

They seemed to try this guy with kid gloves.

It's kind of funny I looked on the bravotv.com message board for queer eye, and most of the guys whop posted appeared to be praising wayne for showing his true self.
Wayne, you were so willing and brave! You let us see your quirks and foibles and it only made me cheer louder at your successes
