I went and saw Spider-Man 2 today. In the scene where Peter's friend Harry Osborn is about to take off Spidey's mask (I'm not revealing anything that isn't shown on trailers) Harry is drinking a glass of whiskey and I noticed a bottle of Maker's Mark sitting on the table. I wouldn't know what it was if I hadn't ordered these balls and became an "ambassador." Not bad for a guy who has never tasted a drop of the stuff! I think it's about $55 for a 750 ml bottle, by the way.

On a similar note I was watching the original Spidey today, and noticed that Norman Osborne was drinking Maker's Mark. I had heard of the stuff before, but I had no idea what kind of liquor it was.

Yeah, I'd have to hunt really hard to pay more than $30 for Maker's Mark. It's pricier than standard Jim Beam, but not *that* pricey. ;)

And not to hijack from Makers or their wonderful balls, but if you like Makers, I'd recommend trying Woodford Reserve. It's like tasty liquid crack, that stuff...

I would recommend just giving them to a friend who plays. They are quite possibly one of the coolest freebies I've ever gotten off here.

I just read the sheet that came with them. The material is acrylic which according to another website is half the weight of glass. It has the Maker's Mark logo and name etched into it.

I've gotta say, I like all of these Maker's Mark promo items. Last year they packaged some magazine with two "wax seal" coasters. If they keep this up, it won't be long before all of my barware is provided by Maker's Mark.

Anyone else get the MM DVD in the mail? I got pretty excited when I saw on the box "Kevin Smith as Distillery Jester" until I watched it and it turned out it wasn't that Kevin Smith. Still, the DVD was about how their barrels are made and is actually kind of interesting. After only 8 minutes you want MORE! :)

The cool thing is, they sent me two DVDs - with the second one containing postage on its case so I can send it to someone else.

I bought a bottle yesterday, partly out of guilt.
I rarely drink, and have never really drank whiskey. So who knows how long the bottle will last, probably forever. But I felt I should give it a try
if nothing else, the wax topped bottle looks cool and will make a decent bottle for my homemade wine

Don't feel bad if you didn't get the DVD's. There's only 2 things on the DVD, one about 7 minutes and the other less than 1 minute if I remember right. I gave mine to friends or I would have thrown them in the trash instead.
