did the pace of deadwood pick up after the first 4 episodes?
while i have enjoyed what i've seen so far, imo, the first four episodes are very slow paced which makes sometimes watching them a bit hard to do. I have the remaining episodes taped from on demand (the on demand limit ended last night, so , i taped all the episodes that i havent' seen yet). i'm just wondering if watching the remaining episodes is going to be a chore or not.

I've seen shows I thought were slow before, but Deadwood sure doesn't strike me as one of them... I think it's an amazing show, but maybe it's just not your cup of tea... If you weren't nuts about the first four, I don't think you're gonna suddenly love the rest of 'em...

The first few episodes are more of a set-up, so you know the characters & their situations. However, none of the episodes were non-stop, breakneck action. It's not "The A-Team", but the single best drama on television.

Yeah - I've been catching up with it on HBO On Demand. Have seen the first 3 episodes - kind of slow but still a decent show. I'm not really into Westerns though to begin with.

The only episode I thought was slow was the premiere, but that might have been because I didn't know what to expect. Every other episode I was surprised when I looked at the clock and it was almost over. I would give Deadwood and would definitely recommend watching it.
