"Michael Moore Hates America" is a Movie, Yet Can't Be Talked About in Movie Forum

"Michael Moore Hates America' is a movie. People were talking about that movie until it got shut down.

People were told to go to a thread about "Farenheit 9/11" where no posting seems to be allowed, unless you have seen the movie and only that movie not "Michael Moore Hates America"

Makes little sense.

If you look at this thread, the MAJORITY of it were people bashing Michael Moore and talking about his 9/11 movie and NOT about "Michael Moore Hates America". I'm not surprised it got locked.

So? Some people were discussing the movie. That should be enough, but I guess it isn't.

I think there was some confusion about what that thread was about. The subject header read "Michael Moore Hates America."

Imagine a mod who was closing Michael Moore threads in the movie forum that were political and didn't know that the movie existed. They would think that the subject header (and content of the thread) represented the thread-starters opinion, and close it.

But anyway, the film Michael Moore Hates America should absolutely be fair game for discussion in the Movie forum.

I would love to know why Geoff closed a thread discussing an actual film.

If a legitimate film, with an official title, can't be discussed, why even have the movie forum to begin with?

Here is a link to the IMDB of MMHA: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411646/

My guess is that maybe Geoff didn't notice that MMHA is a separate film in its own right. Honest mistake, if this is the case.
At least, I hope it's the reason. Anything other then a simple "mistake" is extremely predjudicial.

Closing the MMHA thread and redirecting people to the DVD Review of a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FILM leads me to believe that it was an honest mistake more then anything else.

Being a completely separate film means it should have its own discussion, should it not?

Speaking of which, I am looking forward to the theatrical review of MMHA from Geoff, if he chooses to review it. It would be interesting to see the contrast (without politcal influcence, of course).

So where are the mods?

It's been several hours and the Michael Moore Hates America thread has not been reopened.

I scanned the thread and while there was some MM bashing, I agree it should be reopened.

Maybe geoff closed the thread and the mods are far too scared of reopening it.

I guess it was a misunderstanding but G's now pissed that there's a thread about the closing rather than people e-mailing him.
