Any bass solo by Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones). His "Amazing Grace" solo on the album Live Art is truly something to behold. This guy is crazy!

Best I ever saw was Stu Hamm. When he played with Joe Satriani, that was amazing to have Joe get blown away by his bass player.

My vote goes to Les Claypool, but I love Stu Hamm and Billy Sheehan also. I saw those 2 guys on the G3 tour last year and they were excellent.

Definately Stu Hamm i remember going to a Joe Satriani concert back in 89 and Stu Hamm playing the "peanuts" theme on his bass, it was just amazing...

Cliff Burton (Anesthesia)--Pulling Teeth is pretty damn good also...

You guys will probably puke but I always found the little bass break in Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al" a nice little addition to an ok song (definitely not th ebest rtack on Graceland by a long shot)

ETA: And N.I.B. is a good pick. That was the centerpiece of my band from high school. Even after we ditched the all-covers set and wrote our own crap we kept N.I.B. What a killer song.

I can't believe I overlooked YYZ...I think at one point Geddy is playing open harmonics...

I don't know if you would really consider it a solo, but during Alex's solo in Limelight...it seems like Geddy is doing one of his own...amazing.

The ****ed up reverb drenched 8 minute solo on Can's "Quantum Physics" takes the cake for me.
