Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366551/

Just came across this on a release list for this summer (July 30). Has anyone heard anything about this? Since I'm a WC fan, I'd be interested in seeing this.

I've seen that page at IMDB for so long, and I've been eagerly awaiting for its release. John Cho's great at comedy, and the premise for this movie just sounds too funny. There are some really great comedic actors on the cast too.

I have seen this... THAT I HAVE! who wants to touch me?

Lets put it this way.. if you liked DUDE WHERE'S MY CAR and enjoyed the azn Milf guy from american Pie series.. You will enjoy this silly film

Harold = Asian office space stuck character (the prude of the two)
Kumar = Indian friend who is going for med school interviews and the wild risk taker of the two.

they go out for random trip to white castle which last the night and leads to some whacky adventures. Some funny moments and over all leave your brain at the door type of film.

Not the Kumar I'm interested in. Now, if it were a Wes Anderson version, I'd be there.

Apparently the director of this movie LOVES making films about 2 morons searching for things.

He also directed "Dude, Where's My Car".

By the way, this movie is no longer coming out in july, it was just pushed back to December about 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, especially since the film's test screenings have been through the roof according to New Line.

And where did New Line release that info?

Also, I don't expect New Line to say anything less, such as "The movie did sorta ok..." or "The test screenings went horribly...Look for the movie this December!"

I hold a special place in my heart for this nonsense since it was the only film at the AFM that I got to see.

The reaction was good there. Though it has no star power (Dougie Houser M.D. [sp] is the biggest star) but it is entertaining to some level.

I want to know if this film is coming out on July 30th still or still has been delayed till the winter. I saw the trailer twice this weekend and New Line's website still says the film is coming out the 30th.

The theater I go to just put up the one-sheet in their "Coming Soon" section - I'll have to see if it is still there when I go next time.

Yikes. After that trailer, I know I will be skipping this thing. I like comedies, but I like them to be funny...

What's up with them using the same director AND trailer song as Dude, Where's My Car?

They wanted to make the same type of movie. As bad as Dude, where's my car was, it still was successful at making fox money so It was of course a no brainer to try his luck again in the same style.

14 million to make and made 46 million.. It may have been awful, but people bought tickets.

"Dude" was one of the most depressing movie-going experiences I can remember having. The movie was just plain bad. The audience was booing at the end...I don't walk out of films when I buy tickets to them, but I was seriously contemplating it.

It's my fault, of course. I mistook the moronic overtones of the trailer to possibly mean that it could be a 'stupid movie in the way that Dumb & Dumber was funny AND stupid'....but no, it was just stupid in the way that bad movies are really stupid.

It's a similar premise, same director, same trailer....I'll skip it.

Good for you. You're spending your cash in the manner you seem fit. But when you ask a question such as "What's up with them using the same director AND trailer song as Dude, Where's My Car?" the answer is simple. Dude made a profit. Dude made a good profit on very little marketing and little to no star power. It is obvious that the director appealed to some crowd. I wasn't a fan of DUDE. I didn't pay to go see Harold and Kumar, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It's fairly simple why the director is getting another job and the song is the same because... well it's his style or something.

I just watched the preview and I want to see this now!!!

I had read a summer movie preview and the premise sounded ridiculously stupid....but who can resist a movie starring the Asian guy from American Pie and the Indian guy from Van Wilder!

I'm also really looking forward to this movie. Of course i did enjoy Dude Wheres... just because of the almost surrealism near the end. Had me just dying laughing.... my wife on the other hand didn't find it nearly so funny. Then again she thinks In Living Color is funnier than Kids in the Hall.
