I'm picking this up later today. any thoughts on it or the band's current sound?

I like it. Not as good as their older stuff (but really, what possibly could be) but definitely not disapointing.

I like it quite a bit. The only song I don't dig is Mariah Carey Arthur Doyle Hand Cream.

The song is now called "Kim Gordon and the Arthur Doyle Hand Cream." I don't think there are any bad tracks but there are some that stand out more than others. My favorites are "Unmade Bed," "The Dripping Dream," "New Hampshire," "I Love You Golden Blue," and "Peace Attack."

what "Sonic Nurse" song did they perform on the Tonight Show Wednesday (June 9)???

I recognized it but can't put my finger on it.

I've got Corporate Ghost: The Videos. 24-Bit PCM stereo, sounds quite good, and I hadn't seen a lot of their video work. I was very impressed.

Does it have the Richard Kern stuff that IIRC was found on Goo?

Does it have that one with Macauley Culkin?

What someone on another forum said the DVD has...

+ Sonic Youth commentary on all tracks
+ Director/collaborator commentary on many tracks
+ Interesting revelations (Todd Haynes directed "Disappearer"; Sassy intern Chloe Sevigny is the hot gal who the camera follows in "Sugar Kane" which freaked me out cuz I've always thought that girl in the video was teh HOTT, and Chloe was not)
+ Video for "Ono Soul" from Thurston's solo LP on Geffen (I hadn't seen that in years, it's cool it was added as a bonus)
+ Audio commentary sometimes has video extras afterwards of the speaker; my fave so far is of Mike Watt commenting on "Scooter & Jinx"; he's in the middle of saying something, gets a phone call, grumpily gets up to answer the phone, has his mic remote fall on the floor behind him and picks up the phone off camera and bellows "WATT!" ("WHAT?!"?)

sonicyouth.com is streaming some of the vids.

Well, if Scooter & Jinx is on it then that is the Richard Kern video i was thinking of. IIRC he also did Death Valley '69 but I am not entirely sure. And am too lazy to look ;)

I am still liking Sonic Nurse after a week of listens. Favorite songs are Stones, Unmade Bed and New Hampshire.

Corporate Ghost is an interesting watch and the commentaries are fun to listen to. The only down side is the "video" for Disconnection Notice. What the hell is that?

I have given the album about 2 listens so far and I am really liking it. I picked up the DVD yesterday and gave it a watch last night. Great stuff. The Mike Watt commentaries are great, I think every one of his starts with "I don't think I've ever seen this one"

What intrigues me most about the DVD is that on the back cover it says something to the effect of 'pre-sellout DVD forth coming' -eek- Can't wait!
