Any suggestions on a 27-30" Flat Screen TV?
My 11-year old TV is finally giving it up and I've been considering a Toshiba - but if there are any other suggestions (or great deals anyone has spotted) or any real clunkers out there to avoid, please let me know!

Marty, I would definitely go with a TV with V-Compression. I think these brands offer it in the sizes you state - Sony, Toshiba, JVC, Sharp, Advent (probably others).
A good deal can be had on the FS100 model of the Sony Wega. I saw $349 on clearance at Best Buy.
However, I *highly* reccommend this one -

$549 for this tv is a STEAL. HD ready, DVI, 3D Y/C comb filter, Faroudja DCDI, 3:2 pulldown, 30 WATTS (w/ virtual dolby), 2 component inputs, and more.
This is a great TV for the money.

Great deal coming up in August at Costco
In the recently received Summer 2004 Passport to Savings coupon book I received in the mail from Costco, there is a coupon good from August 9 through 15 for $100 off a Philips 30" widescreen flat HDTV monitor (item #680428). After coupon it will be $599.99 plus tax. That's incredible, in my opinion.
I purchased the model this one replaced last year from Sam's Club at the closeout price of $679 and am using it in my bedroom. I love this TV. I actually think it has a better picture than my recently purchased 65" Mitsubishi 513 in the living room.
In summary, if price is a factor for you and you are a member of Costco, I'm suggesting the Philips 30" widescreen flat HDTV monitor. I believe the model number is something like 30PT850H. I'm guessing on the model number, so don't yell at me if I'm wrong.
