Let me say that I quite enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I would. It was a lot less mindless than I thought it was gonna be. Had some depth and heart, not that much, but not just slapsticky. As peeps have said very "Road Trip" py!
Good characters. Michelle Trachtenberg surprised the hell out of me. She annoyed me as all hell on Buffy, but was quite the little comedic vixen here, though she did play similar to Buffy character. Otherwise, decent movie with great cameos Matt Damon and Kristen Kruek played the crap out of theirs and Lana is just hotand kept it original enough and fresh enough to be not quite like ALL the rest...
I'd like a fun little romp with Michelle. -biggrin-

I saw it in the theater and liked it. It's a diverting 90 minutes.
Vinny Jones as the Manchester United football hooligan was hillarious. When he got to france and insisted on still driving on "the english" side of the road. rotfl

I have only 2 questions to ask:
Is it more or less as funny as Old School?
Is there more or less nudity than in Old School?

It's way better than Old School...oh woops I mean Old School. I hated Old School
The other very funny part is when they get to "Eastern Europe" and the guy has a Yugo painted like the General Lee, all his knowledge is based on '80s American pop-culture (Miami Weis), and he remarks, "It's a good thing you didn't come here in the winter...it can get a little depressing". Having been tortured by too many of the recent eastern bloc deppression flix, like Lilya-4-Ever, I found that very funny.

I'll go the other way on this one. Old School was much funnier IMO, but I'm a big fan of the Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn so maybe I'm biased I dunno.
Eurotrip was a fun movie but a single viewing in my opinion. The entire premise bothered me though. She blocks his email account so he goes to Europe to find her? Has he not heard of Hotmail, Yahoo, etc etc to just make a different account and email her again? ;) Who has only 1 email address anyways!

Oh, good lord. It's NOWHERE near as funny as Old School. Not even in the same league. Not even close.
As for the nudity ... there's more.
I saw it for the first time last night. I was hoping it'd be on a par with Road Trip, but I don't think it is. The gags were far more forced and there wasn't any real natural flow to it. It had some solid laughs. The whole recurring song thing was funny. The Cooper character had his moments, but he was hit or miss. Half of what he said made me laugh, the other half made me feel embarassed for the actor and the writer.
If, in terms of stupid comedy (I mean that in a good way), if Old School was a 9.5, Road Trip would be about a 6.5 and Eurotrip about a 4.5. None of them match the best stupid comedy of all time though. The Jerk still rules.

Although I'd rather liked Eurotrip, I'd rank it no where near Old School, which I thought was an awesome comedy. Eurotrip is what I hoped it would be, a funny entertaining movie, but also a bit stupid. I don't mean that as an insult, but I just like some of the silliness in the movie.

Eurotrip had its moments, but it was a total throwaway comedy. Not memorable at all. It was Road Trip, done poorly. Everything was way too forced, the setups way too contrived.
I'm shocked that people think it's a great comedy. Even for its genre, it was mediocre at best.

I don't think it's a great comedy. I think it's a so-so comedy. But it's light years better than Old School which is an awful comedy.
It seems that Old School is developing a reputation on here (and in the world at large) as a sleeper classic. The movie sucks. Every last second they spend with Craig Killborn and Jeremy Piven (two VERY funny guys) is tediously unfunny. The entire last 30 minutes of "academic decathelon" is so old and cliche. It was a tired conceit back when it was done in Revenge of the Nerds and Billy Madison.

My feelings exactly, the only thing that made Old School mildly funny was the presence of Will Ferrell's streaking episode and the initial sight of Piven cast against character as the Dean. Once the competition began it didn't elicit even a single chuckle from me. Eurotrip had laughs straight through (and some big ones at that). Sure some bits fell flat, but it had a much better ratio than Old School/Road Trip.

Old School had a hilarious first two acts, but the third act was nowhere on par with the first two (similar to April's Mean Girls).
Eurotrip has a better batting average than Old School when it comes to jokes. The first act took it's time, but the moment our heroes reached Europe, the film brought in teh funny.
I enjoyed Eurotrip more than Old School, but I liked Road Trip the best. There we go. :)

As for the Old School/Road Trip comparison, I own Old School, haven't seen Road Trip but I think both Old School and Eurotrip are equally funny. Two(or four if you wanna think of it that way) things that Eurotrip has over Old School though, is Jenny and Mieke.

The ending to Old School didn't live up to the beginning. But the beginning was so damned funny that I'm willing to forgive it.
As for being cliche ... it's a parody. It's supposed to be cliche.

1.Road Trip
2.Old School
3.Eurotrip
Not really fair at this point since I have seen the first one 50+ times, the second 20+ times, and just one viewing so far for Eurotrip, but we will see how it holds up with repeated viewings.

I just saw this tonight and it has to one of the worst comedies I have ever seen. Soooooo cheesy and not funny. This isn't even close to Old School or Road Trip. Terrible actors, all of them. Maybe I'm getting too old but it just didn't do it for me. However, I did think the Matt Damon cameo was amusing.
Oh and the lead character is Keanu Reeves.

I thought it was a pretty solid teen comdey. However it wasn't close to Old School. It was a little under Road Trip IMO. But in the end it was entertaining and a movie with a good amount of rewatchability.

I think you're taking it a bit too far, just as those who think it's a great comedy are taking it too far in the other direction. It wasn't one of the worst comedies ever. But it sure as hell wasn't close to one of the best, either. It was a watchable, though badly flawed, teen comedy. It wasn't and never will be a classic, but neither does it belong in the ranks of "one of the worst" either.
Personally, I was just so utterly shocked that anybody was touting this as a great comedy that I was just taken aback by this thread at first. That's absurd. But in fairness, I think you're pushing it too far in the other direction. It wasn't horrible.

Finally saw Eurotrip the other day and i really enjoyed it! Having said that, its nowhere near as good as Road Trip and Old School! Road Trip is on of my most watched DVDs in my collection, love that movie!
Funny thing tho, most people i know dont like Old School, when i ask them why, they say its kind of dull. Then i notice those same people enjoy only teen comedies and all out wacky comedies like Boat Trip. In my opinion, Old School was like a mature comedy with a teen spirit. I guess some didnt like that.
Oh and by the way, Boat Trip sucked big time! Not worthy of trip-titled movies!

I saw it in the theaters AND got the DVD!
The Eurotrip DVD had some great DVD extras. Some of the funniest scenes were in the deleted scenes, they should have kept alot of those in, the movie would have been even better. there's also a drinking game commentary which is really funny.

Just saw this and thought it was weak. Nothing really had me laughing out loud (with the exception of the creepy Italian guy and the Nazi kid).
I'd go as far as to say that I would NOT recommend this movie to friends. And I'm all for stupid comedies. The jokes were just tired, IMO.
