I'm not sure if this is a playable demo or if it's just a a movie demo they'll send you. Go to www.toyota.com. From there, select Vehicles --> Brochures --> Request A Brochure. I chose the Prius as the car. After you submit the information, one of the items on the results page should be "Gran Tourismo 4 DVD - Valid to Fulfill."

So is this a playable DVD or a video only DVD?

When I submitted it did not give me the DVD option. I set the purchase date to 7 months or more though. I submitted it again with a purchase date of 1 month or less and it worked.

Never mind...
It's already been posted... and yes you do get a GT4 Prologue Demo. I already got mines in the mail a couple weeks back. You can drive a prius or a wierd ass lookin' car. You have a 2 minute time limit and you have two courses to try.
Woo! Got mine in today, gonna have to fire up the PS2 when I get home from work. :)

My impressions:
- Control already feels much more different than GT3. Seems more "real" in a way and more responsive. It could be a placebo affect since they've told us that the game would be more realistic, but I felt that it was anyway.
- Graphics look much improved as well. Texture detail looks better and the crowd animations even as 2D figures adds a lot to the atmosphere. It would be nice if the crowd tracked your car as it went by rather than just looking in a default direction. I like how you can zoom in the camera in replay mode. Resolution seems higher as well.
- Loading times are waaaay faster than GT3 which is a good things. Felt like cart loading times.
- Narrow grand canyon course really added to the sense of speed. I can't wait to play some of the narrow road courses
- The HUD for that prototype car is way too complicated. Is there anyway to turn it off? What do those gauges mean anyway. I know some are wheeel slip and power, but what is that "gravity" indicator all about? It's too out of the way to even look at.

Doesn't look like most of us will be getting the demo disc as I just got this e-mail for toyota.
Thank you for your recent request for a brochure with a Gran Turismo GT4 demo disc. Your interest in our vehicles is important to us, so we wish to give you a status update on your order.
Regrettably, we will not be able to fulfill your request. The popularity of the GT4 promotion surpassed our expectations, resulting in a demand for the demo discs that exceeded our supply.
If you wish to re-order a Toyota vehicle brochure, you may do so now at www.Toyota.com.
As an alternative, you may access electronic brochures for various vehicles at the following links:

Yeah, the demo is based on an early build. I got my demo just a few days after I requested a brochure. What's crazy though, is that a lot of these "free" demos are selling for over $20 on ebay.

I played mine once, wasn't particularly impressed, so I put it up on eBay and got over $20 for it!
