I have to imagine that Benson will come out once the full run of Soap is out... or even sooner, since, did the spinoff begin during Soap's run? And wasn't there an episode of Benson where Katherine Helmond appeared (and I'm not going to spoil the circumstances of her appearance for the uninitiated) as Jessica Tate?

Fun show, Benson. My favorite episode of that series was the "Last Man & Woman on Earth" where Benson and Gretchen are the sole survivors of a Neutron Bomb attack that turned all the rest of the cast into what I recall looking like spaghetti. Creepy, for a sitcom!

And Robert Guillaume had another sitcom in the late 80's, with Lynn Redgrave, but its name escapes me...

I know, I know... the fourth series is out, but I want the first three!Aaah, that sent me off searching the web for Home Movies DVDs -- the Home Movies picture in your post is the only one that showed up on my browser. There's a dozen episodes of Home Movies S4 using space on my TiVo because I've been too lazy to put them on tape, and I'd be happy to have a DVD instead. Anyway, when I went to reply to ask "Where, are you sure?" I saw the other image links in the quoted text, and voila, I figured out you meant Good Neighbors. :) Funny, I just saw a little bit of Good Neighbors last night, looking through some ancient tapes. As to Home Movies DVDs, I knew Brendon Small (the real one, not the cartoon one) was trying to get them off the ground, but seems to be slow-going due to the higher-ups.

Good God! I thought I was the only one who remembered this show.
You and me both! Well... there was this show I remembered seeing once or twice as a kid in the 70s which disappeared quickly from the schedule. I remembered people running around a hotel, and it having a somewhat eccentric or surreal "feel" and sense of humor which I liked, and that it had "Hotel" in the title. I've always wondered what it was, but had never been able to find a show to match it. I'd even looked through all the shows on IMDB with Hotel in the title. I thought, well, I don't think I imagined it, maybe it was a failed pilot, and badly written, something people wouldn't bother to remember or document. But, I've never been able to completely accept that there are things I don't know that I won't be able to find out someday...

Well, the picture posted upthread made me think of my childhood "mystery show." When I first saw the title, I thought it might not be it, because I didn't get see "Hot L" as Hotel with a burned out E. But I went to IMDB and read about it, and, this has got to be it! I've actually seen the title "Hot L Baltimore" mentioned online a number of times before, but thought it sounded like a cop show or something. Huh, a 30 year mystery caused by a missing "E"! I'd guessed I'd seen it when I was 10 or so, but IMDB says 1975, which means I was only 6 or 7. Just a few small reviews at IMDB, but they seem to think the show was "witty, progressive and more than a little racy" -- heh, maybe I was a 1st grader with an eye for such things ; ) (sounds just the kind of shows I'd like to watch nowadays.)

Anyway, shows already illustrated I reallyreally want on DVD: Action, The Addams Family, Parker Lewis, and Pete & Pete. Maybe Dream On, Hermans Head, and Mathnet too - I'd forgotten about that till this thread - I was over 18 the few times I saw it, but I loved the parody. And...

http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/I/htmlI/itsgarrysh/itsgarryshIMAGE/itsgarrysh.jpg

"This is the theme to Garry's show, the opening theme to Garry's show, Garry called me up and asked if I would write his theme song..."

I looked everywhere for a cast pic, couldn't find one, but I think this is supposedly Garry circa "It's Garry Shandling's Show." Y'know, I never hear anyone mention that show, don't know why. I thought it was brilliant and very funny, and it ran 4 years, on both Showtime and Fox, supposedly with critical acclaim.

By the way, that's not the actual series logo, just something I whipped up in Photoshop using some publicity stills. I'd have to dig the actual logo off of one of my old VHSes, plus this looks a little clearer than the series logo would and helps illustrate the point that it was composed of three separate serials.

Hey, I'm proud, I got to be the creator of this neat thread. However, I do sense some fizzling out around here...

And it does concern me that "One Day at a Time" got the honor of being the first pic...

What would be real neat is for someone to go through this entire thread and compile an entire list of the shows represented...

...calling LasVegasMichael...get this thread moving again.

I'm thinking about reviving my favorite thread, the one comparing similar DVD covers...

If I can weigh in (I feel kind of like this thread's godfather),

Not only would an itemized recounting of the shows (especially those more obscure shows that were never named in their posts), along with the studios/companies that own the rights to those shows, AS WELL as a possible status indication. For example, WKRP In Cincinnati would be "highly unlikely" due to the considerable music rights involved.

Is this going about it wrong? If there's an easier way, I'd love to hear it.

I would attempt to catalog this thread, but I simply don't have the time. Also, I have no clue what over half of these shows are. Where is LVM?

I kinda hate to nominate him by implication, but I do think he knows most of these shows, but he likely doesn't have the time either. :D

Sorry, I was in Vegas for a few days (don't have a computer there, for obvious reasons).

I will gladly do it too, when I have a bit more time, perhaps later this week. Mine are easy to identify. If I didn't name them, just click to see the properties, and the show's name is in the address.

Thanks ukywyldcat for the nomination and props! I do know most of these shows (except for the foreign ones). In this threads cast of characters, I guess you would be the "Creator" and I would be the "Writer" or "Producer", and of course, the shows are the stars! :)

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the my latest sig! I've been wanting a high quality version of this show for quite some time. It seems so obvious, considering how Timothy Busfield has continued to enjoy steady, recognizable work on TV and JLH and Seth Green both have broken out on both the small and large screen.

Breaks my heart when I see broken image links on this thread...

Why is that, though, that some images make it through and others don't? Personally, I save all the pics I use on my own .mac site then link to that. Seems to be a winning formula.

The Family Ties thread got me thinking that this classic thread needed a bump. Funny that even in the last three months since this thread dissappeared, a few that we've posted have been announces (including 21 JumpStreet). Good stuff!

Wonder Years and The Flash are the two I would really love to have, though there are several more I would like to have.

When the ***** is this coming out!?! I heard Season 1 is supposed to come out this year. I hope so, especially given that every other POS show that has ever been produced seems to be on DVD.

I'm glad this thread is back. I don't understand how to put JPEGs or whatever in my posts. Can somebody help me?

Well, if it's a pic already on the Internet, and if using Internet Explorer, here's what you do:
A. Capturing the image
1. Right-click on the pic.
2. Select "Properties"
3. Highlight the "Address" (URL) location.
4. Right-click on the highlighted URL.
5. Select "Copy"
B. Posting your image
1. In your message board post put your cursor where you want the picture to go.
2. Right-click.
3. Select "Paste"
4. Surround the Address (URL) with image tags as such [img], with the last one having a '/' before the 'img'.

You can do this on any forum that uses bracketed codes for special formatting.

If the pic is not on the internet, (ie. on your computer) then you have to find somewhere to upload it, ie. a free image hosting site. I use Photodump, others use other sites.

Ahh yes...Space Rangers...the show that got canceled before it even aired. Only 6 episodes were ever made. That's how bad it was. Apparently this was a spoof made to compete with Star Trek's Deep Space Nine.

Great to see that this classic thread from over a year ago is still kicking. What is even greater to see is the fact that quite a few of the shows that we posted have indeed been released and/or scheduled to be released on DVD.

Now that I have had over a year to reflect on the many shows I, and others, have posted, I can now add a few more to the mix:

http://www.epguides.com/CelebrityPokerShowdown/logo.jpg Yes, this is a true guilty pleasure, but I must admit that I LOVE this idiotic show, and would buy season sets immediately.

http://www.epguides.com/CSINY/cast.jpg From what I recall, this is scheduled for August of '05.

http://www.epguides.com/Tilt/cast.jpg[img] This is coming next month, and I can't wait!

[img]http://www.epguides.com/LawandOrderTrialbyJury/cast.jpg. Hopefully this one season wonder will show itself on DVD as a Complete Series set. I liked it a HELL of a lot more then Criminal Intent.

More to come!
