Hi Def Dvd's

With a sprinkling of High Definition movies available now and alot more to come this month thanks to Imax im interested in checking out afew.

Steping into liquid has got a wmhhd version on its second disc. Does this have a 720p version on it or is 1080i the only option.

Likewise with the other WMV HD copies out there. Is it common practice to release both a 1080i and 720p version on the same disc?

Apparently there will be 16 Hi Def movies available for wmv9 by the end of this month. IMax are leading the way. After checking their release schedule it looks like the following docos will get the Hi Def treatment.

Coral Reef Adventures ( Already Released with wmv9 Hi Def)
Amazon
Discoverers
Dolphins
Journey into amazing caves
Living Sea
Magic Of Flight
Speed
Stormchasers
To The Limit

Apparently Artisan are going to release afew as well. I know step into liquid is artisan as is terminator 2. Dust to Glory is also Artisan but I cant find a release date for this yet.

Anyhow. Hi Def looks like its hear for now atleast in limited number. What you guys think of this format.

I need to upgrade the video card in my HTPC. My old Radeon 7000 works great for DVD but can't handle the high def WM9 stuff well at all. The slideshow looks awesome though.

Don't forget that Terminator 2 Extreme Edition also has the WM9 HiDef version on the 2nd disk.

I would love nothing more than see T2 in WM9 hi res...but since I live in Denmark, I cant watch it because of the stupid IP check...and it sucks balls !

I guess that even though I paid for this DVD as well as numerous other Artisan titles, my money doesn´t seem to be good enough...

Yes there is definately a work around for the ip check.

From memory it has alot to do with what country settings you have and all that.
