Has anybody seen Ultimate Card Games for GBA?
I saw this article on IGN and thought this game would be a great time killer, especially when waiting in line at the movies this summer.
http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/519/519710p1.html
Problem is, I haven't seen this game anywhere. Gamestop.com is the only place I've seen it online, and my local BB, CC, Target, and Walmart doesn't have it (yet). Has anybody seen this game at a local store? I don't want to spend $30 for it at gamestop.com, and if anything I'd like to use a GGC at bestbuy. If anybody has seen this, then I'll assume my local stores just haven't gotten their shipments in yet. If not, then I guess its just going to be one of those hard to find games.

not a HUGE title? hmmm how bout getting it out to the stores and letting the public decide
anyway, glad you mentioned this eatntae
I have been waiting for the release of this game since it was announced and now that it was supposed to be in stores this past week I am most disappointed it cannot be found anywhere (with ease)
I went to EB today and they don't even have it in their system, confirmed this when I got home by the fact it is not even listed on their website. And yes I too only wanted to purchase it there because I have a GC burning a hole in my pocket.
A search of bestbuy.com and circuitcity.com yield no results. I can only hope this is a case of a shipping problem by the publisher (Telegames) and not a case of retail f'ing up. Considering the high praise of Ultimate Brain Games this should have been a no- brainer (no pun intended). Gamestop (online) appears to be the only retailer to have this readily available (guess you could call it a Gamestop exclusive).
9.5 review from IGN is pretty useless when you cannot find the game.

Musick, YEAH, not a huge title. Notice how you can't find it ANYWHERE? That generally means its NOT a huge title. If it was a HUGE title (Like mARIO & dONKEY kONG) you would ATLEAST be able to find it at an EB or Best Buy.

well I said to hell with EB today (as they will not be stocking this title) and decided to give my hard earned money to Gamestop
conclusion: this game lives up to the IGN review and is exactly what the Gameboy was meant for
major props to Telegames for such a great product
this game has endless replay value and all areas of presentation/control, etc are exceptional
maybe some people will realize that you don't have to ship thousands of copies for a title to be considered HUGE (or of great demand)
I'll take a Ultimate Card Games that ships a few thousand and sells through over a Mario vs. Donkey Kong that ships hundreds of thousands and half of the stock sits on the shelves.

that is true tenaciousdave
appearently some retailers have decided not to stock this title, that will be their loss
no big deal now I know which retailer has more intelligent buyers at their home office
I was glad to give Gamestop my money for this and other than cashing in the GC I have from EB they have lost my future business

musick, did you get it online or B&M? If B&M, how much was it?
tenaciousdave, how much is it at your store?
If Gamestop is the only place that will carry it, and I must pay $30, then so be it. But if all possible I'd like to pay less.

I purchased it at Gamestop b&m
it was $29.99 so you don't have to pay $30 (until tax)
I was going to go home to get some old games to trade in toward the purchase of it but I decided since I was already at the store to just buy it at full price. It is worth every dollar. This game will get some major playing time for a long time to come.

TRU has gotten some in. We just got 6 of them. It seems they decided it wasn't worth it to ship it overnight on the release date, so that's what took so long. I'd expect other TRUs to get it in very soon if they haven't already.

I got mine on Thursday at GS, and my wife has not stopped playing it yet. Well worth the money.
One of the perks is that you can download a single game from the cart to a GBA with no cart via the GameLink cable. So I had her give me "Hearts" and I played it for awhile. The game is erased from the non-cart GBA when turned off.

From IGN:
First of all, the sheer number of games in this cartridge is astounding. There are nine classic card games: Hearts, Spades, Euchre, Canasta, Bridge, Cribbage, Go Fish, Gin Rummy, and Crazy Eights. There are also three casino-style games: Poker, Blackjack, and Video Poker. To cap things off, the development team included 15 different styles of solitaire games, including Klondike, FreeCell, Canfield, Pyramid, Golf, Spider, Baker's Dozen, Bristol, Castle, Aces Up, Barons, Eagle Wing, Eight Off, Calc, and Betsy Ross. Whew...I didn't even know that many games could be played with a single deck of cards.
All of the games are programmed with an incredibly clean interface and energetic pace, and everything from the playing background to the card deck and the music selection can be completely customizable. If you don't know the rules to specific games, there's in-cartridge "how to play" tutorials that can be pulled up at any time. And, like Ultimate Brain Games, Ultimate Card Games features cartridge SRAM to save games in progress. This cartridge memory stores an insane amount of data; each game has its own player tracking that can be pulled up, from games won and lost, how long each game has been played, how many hands have been played, which game took the longest, the shortest...it's a statistics freak's dream come true.
The most impressive feature is the collection's "Game Copy" mode, where owners of the cartridge can send a copy of a card game to another Game Boy Advance system. So, in other words, if you're sick of having a bystander looming over your shoulder as you play Klondike Solitaire, link up his GBA system and send him a copy of that game to his system's internal memory. Sure, it'll disappear the second he turns it off, but it'll at least get him off your back for a while. And, of course, it's free advertising for him to go out and get his own copy of the game.
Of course, the same attention to multiplayer from Ultimate Brain Games is included in Ultimate Card Games, offering link play that only requires one copy of the game for up to four different systems
