Labtec Headset Doesn't Work (PS2)
I recently purchased the Labtex Axis 712 and played Socom with no problems. Then I attempted to play Madden 04 and it doesn't work. I've tried hitting R3 during the coin toss: no luck. I've tried opening up port 7777 on my router and still nothing. Is there something that I'm missing. I didn't know that there was a difference between USB headsets.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

well, USB isn't like a regular headset jack, where all headsets will use the same technology and software protocols to communicate. different USB devices can use different sets of drivers, even if the physical plug is the same. so your headset probably doesn't work because it's not supported by certain games. it's not like you're doing anything wrong, it's just that the software doesn't know what to do with an unknown hardware device.
...this is why I personally think it was a bad decision for Sony to make their headsets USB, whereas Microsoft went with an industry standard to make their headsets use a 2.5mm jack. But then again, Sony is infamous for their love of proprietary technology aren't they? such as memory sticks, minidiscs, etc.
