Opinions needed on all region player.

Ok, as I stated in my other thread, it seems that my current malata player has died and so begins the process of looking for a replacement. I am looking for something with DTS, progressive, PAL conversion, etc, that isn't too horrible expensive. Probably under $250 or so. If there were something comparable for cheaper (like a good US brand with a hack), but still had all of those features, that would be great.

Also, one of the biggest things that I liked about my Malata is the XY scaling feature. On lots of the players that I have been looking at, that feature is not mentioned much. I was looking at HKflix and they didn't have the Malata but instead recommended the Jaton PSD-7611K instead. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this brand/player?

Any suggestions that everyone has would be much appreciated. This is day two with no dvd player so I would like to get this taken care of before the withdrawals start.

Malata has great service. Why don't you get it repaired? It might be minor.
