Never thought I'd see these characters again. This is one of my most anticipated films this year.

I don't suppose that it was literally as such, but both appeared together in Linklater's Waking Life in what could be loosely interpreted as being the same characters. Or as just a cameo. Or whatever :D

I'm one of those people that consider Sunrise one of the greatest films ever made. It was the one film that I wish I had made. When Rich made it, I had to kick the ground and say bullocks to him.

While I'm scared that it won't be as good, finally seeing the trailer makes me think it'll be just as good.

I await Sunset wholeheartedly.

I saw this movie the other night at a Sneak Preview and if you are a fan of the first movie, you are going to like this one. Great dialogue and characters in a sequel that have evolved from the last time we have seen them and change even more in this one plus you get to see Paris throughout.

Rotten Tomatoes is at 98%

Saw this at SXSW in March -- without having seen Sunrise (although I knew the basics). Loved it. Liked it more than Sunrise, which I saw later.

i absolutely LOVED the first movie and now that july 2 is here, i can't find a single theater within 200 miles that has this movie. i called the girl at the theater to see if it was coming next week and she had no clue as to what i was talking about.

does anyone else have this problem of it not being in your local theater? AAAGGGHHH!!!!!

Saw it yesterday (Before Sunrise is one of my alltime faves, especially being from Vienna) and liked it a lot.
Only points of criticism: It was a little short (they could have gone one forever, IMO) and the ending was, compared to the first one, a little, hm, let's call it "sudden".
Still a must-have all the way.

Also: PLEASE PLEASE make a 3rd part!!!! :)

it was way too short at 80 mins.

i for some reason was constantly smiling at the characters and their actions/reactions in this one

thoroughly enjoyable and witty

I love Before Sunrise, and I look forward to seeing this. I hope it will eventually get a wider release.

BTW, does anyone know what music is used in the trailer?

I would have really loved the first one had there been explosions or nazis in it.

I'll see the sequel gladly. Hawke & Delphy have nice chemistry. Plus the conversations were engaging and I found myself caught up in it all.

Im still waiting for this to open over here. Im impatient, dammit.

i really wish that this would hurry up and be released wide!!!! according to imdb, it's only in 63 theaters so far. :( a couple of things...

1. the song in the trailer is "edge of the ocean" by ivy.

2. while i haven't seen this yet, i have noticed the short running time (as have others). at this point, while i would like a longer movie, i am just glad that we have those 80 minutes.

Can someone put in spoiler tags what happens in the end?

This movie was great every scene has a funny moment. I thought the beggining credits were smart. I think PEDRO stole the show he was halarious without even trying to be. I also enjoyed all the physical comedy.

*shrug* Okay, here it is.

They walk, they talk, he keeps stalling as his flight time gets closer. They end up back at her place.

"Baby, you're gonna miss that plane."

"I know."

Fade to black.

If it does open wide, it won't be a whole lot wider. There is not much of an audience for this.

While I thoroughly enjoyed it, not everyone has seen the first one and Ethan Hawke isn't exactly a star at all.

Too bad, but the dvd will be here before you know it.

I caught it in Boston last week.

Linklater has created one of the best bookend sets of films ever. THe second was fantastic. Ending was fantastic. I'm in love with this flick just as I am in love with the first one.

I loved that it was only 80 minutes of real time. It was so short, and I didn't want it to end. I hung on to every minute, which is what he wants us to do; hang on to the few moments we have and cherish them.

Since no one has said it, you don't have to have seen the first one to enjoy this one.

hardly an idiot, it's probably a presentation issue. I didn't notice any problems with the sync.

Oh, and Before Sunset is an exceptional picture, so far the best new American film this year.

well, i just got back from the 2 hour drive to see this movie in dallas and i was absolutely floored. to me, this was sooo much better than the first one. the ending was great and leaves you wanting more. i know that before i said i was just thankful for the 80 minutes, but this movie could've gone on for hours more and i would not have cared.

just about everything in this movie was great. the acting was superb. julie delpy not only looked great but was awesome in the car scene. that was some compelling stuff. and some of the best parts of the movie are when there is no dialogue spoken at all, just looks and glances.

i am glad that they waiting nine years for a sequel. i think that it gave the characters much more depth and having the actors in on the writing process helped too i am sure.

the dvd can't come soon enough.

I just watched Before Sunrise on DVD and was floored by how great it was just listening to two people talk for ninety minutes while strolling around Vienna. I'll probably wait for Before Sunset on DVD, but it's definitely on my list of movies I MUST see.

I saw it tonight and I have to say I did the same thing. I was more attached to these characters because you knew what happened the first they met and how many years its been since they last saw each other. It's a great movie that leaves you wanting more at the end. Oh, and you DO need to see the first movie before seeing this.

I finally saw this gem last night, loved every minute of it, but I have a plot question about the first film.

I could have sworn they didn't have sex in Before Sunrise. But they both remember that they did. Was it implied in the first film? Or did their memories change what happened?

It's been a long time since I saw Before Sunrise, and in a weird way I like that my memory of their meeting in Vienna has faded over time like their characters' memories have in Before Sunse.

Goodness, rabbit.

You're opting for an emotional interpretation rather than a rational one?

There's hope for you yet...

It was implied. They're in the park and Celine keeps teasing Jesse about having sex until she finally agrees. They start rolling around and the next time you see them it's the morning.

Yep, it's an interpretive decision that leans heavier towards them doing so instead of not.
