I just read that a hybrid SACD version of #1 Record/Radio City just came out April 27th. Has anyone picked it up? How does it sound?

I picked it up. It sounds good. Stereo only. I had an older copy on CD, and I honestly don't think the difference is too great, but I'm not too critical about music quality. As long as it is fairly clear and free of pops and cracks I'm happy.

I generally won't buy Stereo Only SACD. The whole reason I got an SACD player was for Multi Channel. That's why I was so dissapointed that Peter Gabriel released all his older stuff in stereo SACD instead of Multi Channel. His stuff is perfect for MC.

I love those Big Star albums but I doubt a stereo SACD will do much for the sound.
