Chappelle's Show: Best of S2 (5/4/04)

What can I say...

CHARLIE MURPHY = GOLD

"The dude that looks the most like a bitch is, like, getting all the women."

"They were setting these fruity picks..."

".................Pancakes.........."

How come there's no Rick James in the Best of episodes?

"White people like electric guitar. Black people prefer drums. And Latinos like drums with electric piano and Spanish gibberish over the top of it."

I love this show...

Does anyone know if a third season is a go? I would assume, given the ratings, positive press, and smashing success of the S1 DVD release, that a third season would be a forgone conclusion.

However......Chappelle was on Charlie Rose recently, and he said that there was nothing in line for a third season.

No contract.

No negotiations.

Nada.

Zippo.

I don't know if it's some kind of negotiating ploy, but he was talking about what hard work it was, and he sounded like he'd be content to just walk away after two seasons.

"Hey hey! Ho ho! Chappelle's show just cannot go!"

Surely Comedy Central wouldn't just let Chappelle disappear into the vapor?

funny, every Latino I know hates electric piano if they even know what it sounds like, and blacks like beats, not drums.

My guess is they're just gonna run the Rick James episode as a special show. Probably promote the shit out of it too.

on the final ep (the one with the music guests), in the classroom, Chappelle said "see you next season, bitches". I got the impression that they'd be coming back.

I can't believe Comedy Central would let such a hit get away.
