The Shield "Safe" - 4/20

Wow, i had to refresh 3 times cause i couldn't believe there wasn't a thread on the best show currently on TV.

I'm glad they took a break on the whole granny rape thing. Decent ep, but not as great as the past few weeks, but by the previews, things are sure to pick up.

This show is a great example of a plot driven show, which like sopranos on Sun. wasn't plot driven at all. It seems they have an arc of what they want to do, then drive to it, with it all hitting the fan in the last 2 eps of the season.

Spoiler:
Unlike Sopranos which took 2, out of nowhere storylines, with the gambling dude and Tony's dad's fling into the show w/o even advancing current storylines which were major. Every show seems just like a reset button.

The scene with Dutch talking about the kiddie porn on the computer he signed out was great

Next week looks really good.

I hate to rag on Aceveda, but he's turning into a little punk. Crying at the end and admitting to peeing on himself. Next thing you know, they'll show him sucking his thumb in the corner.

This is why he's the best character on the show.

I liked the Strike team's quick thinking about the safe.

I didn't see next weeks preview, so I'll assume it has something to with Acaveda going after the blowjob guys.

better than seeing him suc ... nevermind...

IMHO:
I like the fact that a traumic event is actually affecting a character... unlike other shows where you can have your heart stop and then half an hour later your saving the world...

Who would have thought that Dutchboy and Pete Townsend would have anything in common?

The doglady was a hottie. Can't blame Vic hitting on it. I cracked up when the decoy squad chick used "slumpbuster" in relation to Vic.

Shane's woman is so grating on the nerves. Her voice is becoming like fingernails on chalkboards.

Loved how the strike team got the safe opened while ingratiating themselves to the "by the book" woman in the Farm.

Acevada is going to be posse-ing up, but with his own brand of bandalitos. He be on the edge.

Makes it harder to bust some cops for stealing mob money, when you off a couple of BJ Boys.

I'm wondering if the laptop is setting up a storyline for Dutch. While researching this on his own time seems like something he'd do, it's possible that he's actually into that stuff.

That new assistant to Captain AssInvadah is almost as bad as Chloe on "24."

Who was the dog-cop chick? What else has she been in - she looked kind of familiar (and hot).

I'm wondering why the strike team didn't copy ALL contents of the safe. It looked like maybe Aceveda was looking up who the BJ guys were from that mugshot book. I'm sure Vic would want everything he can get his hands on to have Aceveda in his pocket. He is already knee deep in stuff (ie the interrogation tape).

I also wonder if Julian will let Vic know (eventhough I'm sure he has a suspicion) that Danny is a snitch for Aceveda.

I thought Dutch and his "a thank you would have been nice" speech was a little too Pulp Fiction.

Not to be rude, but you missed alot in this episode.

1) Vic gave Acevedo the interregation room tape. He could have kept it for himself if wanted to have something on him

2) Dani TOLD Julian that a condition of her return was that she tell Acevedo when bad stuff was going down. There's no suspicion element

No, I saw the part where Vic gave Aceveda the tape at his home. It still something Vic can hold over Aceveda.

And I'm wondering if Julian will tell Vic about Danny (I know she told Julian while they were taking inventory). I know Vic has suspicions but Julian telling him would confirm it.

Nothing bring can bring down a political campaign like a video being replayed again and again. I'm wondering if Vic also made a copy of the tape.

Also, how did they record the bank note serial numbers - by hand? Considering Ronnie's computer expertise, they could have had a scanner in the van, but I didn't see a specific scene where they went to go make photocopies.

Seemed to me they ran out and made copies somewhere else (maybe there was a Kinkos nearby ), but that was sort of left unfleshed out.

If I was Vic, I would have taken the original, made a copy for insurance, and then given Acevedo the original. That makes Acevedo think Vic's alright, but it also leaves Vic an ace up his sleeve.

We don't know that Vic didn't do exactly that.
