I know I was curious as to what they'd look like.

Cheers.

Jesus, Anderson wasn't kidding when they said he was going to make the blades longer...

oh well, unless i hear REALLY good things about AvP from other viewers I trust, I'll be renting it... maybe even waiting for a TV release.

Check out the other Alien and Predator figures they are releasing based on the earlier movies. The Predator 1 Figure and Warrior Alien from Aliens are badass!

Edit: Dammit the links aren't working. Try going Here (http://www.spawn.com/toys/series.aspx?series=1). That should take you directly to the Alien and Predator Toys based on the earlier movies.

I clicked on the warrior alien link and got an error page. I didn't know McFarlane toys made a warrior alien from Aliens toy. I thought they had only done the alien from 3, one from Resurrection, and the Queen set (which I have).

These new Alien figures are based on Alien and Aliens. The release date for them is June. :D

Aliens and Predators had there own MOVIE MANIACS series that had All aliens and All predators from the films.

I thought the move to have a Movie Maniac series on those alone was pretty silly, but they sold very well.

Oh man, both of those aliens look amazing. Especially the first alien with the facehuggers. I will be adding those to my collection.

I like the longer heads on those aliens. I think the Phallic aspect of the Alien head keeps Gieger's bio/sex/mechanical theme. The "Anderson Aliens ", or at least the new Alien toys have seemingly smaller heads.

Anyway, I'm really diggin' that <b>"Elder Predator"</b>. I've always liked that aspect of the Predator movies. The 1st Predator in the Arnold movie was supposed to be an older Predator than the one in the second Danny Glover movie.

I wish Fincher had gone with the alien redesign that Giger did for 3. Aliens with lips...now that's creepy.

Shhh... a very reliable birdy says Sideshow Toy now has the 12" figure license to Predator. I'm guessing their stuff will rock the exoskeletons off of the McT versions.

o'rly.

I was loving slideshows 12" line of Hellboy items.. I can't wait to see what they do with Predator.

These Alien vs Predator figures will be the third line McFarlane Toys has done for these franchises, fourth if you count the few Movie Maniacs 5 figures from the films.

The box set from Movie Maniacs 5 was Alien vs Predator, with the title creatures from the original films in each franchise. http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=1461 There was also a McFarlane Club Exclusive 'Stealth Predator', which was basically the Predator figure cast in clear plastic. http://ecommerce.spawn.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=29

Then, there was Movie Maniacs 6, which had Predator 2, Predator the Hunter, Dog Alien (from Alien 3) and Warrior Alien (from Alien: Resurrection). There was also the deluxe box of the Alien Queen (from Aliens).
http://www.spawn.com/toys/series.aspx?series=13

In June comes a second lineup of figures from the Alien and Predator franchises, titled 'Alien and Predator'. It has retooled versions of previous figures: Alien (from the MM5 box set), Predator (from the MM5 box set, I think), Predator the Hunter (from MM6), Warrior Alien (from MM6, this is the Aliens version instead of the Resurrection version). In addition, they are releasing 12" versions of the original Alien and Predator. (I would've loved if they'd released them as 18"ers, but oh well.) http://www.spawn.com/toys/series.aspx?series=1

Then, in August comes the lineup linked above, from the upcoming AvP movie. http://www.spawn.com/toys/series.aspx?series=205

What's remotely "celtic" about that one predator? What, does he record someone saying "they're after me lucky charms"? Or has he stealth bagpipes that bend light around them, so no-one can see where the annoying noise is coming from?

I personally think the similarities are weak, also, but in their defense, the mask-work is similar to designs found on celtic jewelry. Here's a page with some brooches, for example.

Has it been confirmed what characters would be in it? Or were you just speculating? Robocop would be cool...

Was really wanting a Ripley and Dutch figure with the A/P line, but all well...

The line consists of: (if you didn't know)
RoboCop
Hicks
Leatherface (TCM remake)
Erin (TCM remake)
Sheriff Hoyt (TCM remake)
Old Monty (TCM remake)

And rumors of a ED-209 box float around the net.

Damn it! You got my hopes up there for a minute. The figure is Hicks, not Hudson. :(

Meanwhile, a trip to the local Kay-Bee toys and I see the Matrix Squidy is down to $14. w00t!

Also, picked up the real world Neo for $5.

With those ridiculously long blades, how do the Predators handle things like picking wedgies or picking their noses?

wow. those AvP figures look great. I really like what Todd Toys (Mcfarlane Toys?) does with all their figures. The wizard of oz spinoff toys were especially cool looking.

:jawdrop: Ro...ro...Robocop figure?

I giggle like a little girl at the utter idea of a ED-209 figure....that'd be so bad ass.

"Aliens" aliens, Robocop, possible ED-209, and Hicks. Why does this stuff come out when i have no money? :(

We better have a Hudson figure next line. Someone get Bill Paxton to ok this.

It's huge. Not anything I expected. And it's heavy. Goes with the real world Neo quite nicely.
